Default NCAA will not renew EA Sports contract

Might be of note to some of you who follow the NCAA Football series, or interested in the player likeness lawsuit going on currently.

No shocker here, if the NCAA loses the O'Bannon case there could be some extreme changes to college sports going forward

Interestingly enough this will actually have very little impact on the game going forward as much of the licensing (schools, teams, bowls etc.) isn't owned by the NCAA.

As acknowledged by valo, EA will continue to make college football games.

They should make a CIS version. Canadians don't sue.

Would love to play a game with the Laval Rouge et Or against the Calgary Dinos.

that would be cool, but a CFL game would make more sense first

Neither makes sense. EA could continue to make NCAA games without permission, get sued by the league and players and still make more money than they would with a CIS or CFL game.

Just build the CFL into the Madden games. Instead of free agents retiring if they don't get signed after a while, they randomly show up on your CFL team.

"*Student athletes*, that is brilliant sir."

Does anyone remember that CFL game from the late 90's? It was so hilariously bad. Every Canadian stadium was exactly the same, just a set of bleachers tat looked like it held about 3000 people.
