There's a couple of rinks for sure in Kananaskis Village.

Sandy Mcnab campground west of Turner Valley used to have an O/D rink set up.

Fire pit off to the side in the shadow of the mountains. No boards, benches etc...

Just a wild sheet of ice. Its been a few years since I was out there but might be a place to look into.

Summer, Winter, Fall, or Spring Abraham is a dangerous lake.

Beautiful, but dangerous.

Ha ha, this reminds me of the utter fail in trying to do this last year.

We wasted a whole day driving around trying to find these magical mountain skating and shinny locations that you see on Facebook/Instagram.

There were tons of other people doing the same thing. We noticed the same cars showing up in the same parking lots and turning around.

I've since learned that some of these pics you see from these Influencers on social media are staged. They basically clear off the ice in one spot, get the exact angle and lighting they need, get the money shot, then leave.

They have no interest in actually skating or playing a lil stick n' puck like the rest of us.

Oakridge and Shawnessay are both open. I think Braeside and Canyon Meadows are both likely open now as well but haven't' been by them to see in person.
