My bad....the Priddis "Cafe and Grill" and the "Water's Edge Pub" are both in the same building. It's a big brown building, not sure about the gas station.

I know the former owners but believe it's changed hands in the last few years.

Same place. They're connected. The cafe portion is now called Jane's Addiction.

I've been to Unas enough now to say I think it is overrated... Really don't get how much people hype up the place. From the insanely salty pizza to the sweltering heat in the restaurant to truffle smell that permeates through the place... Meh, I can think of about 3 or 4 better (and cheaper) thin crusts in the city. Used to like Unas, but have tried enough places around Calgary to change my mind

Oh, and I can't post about a restaurant without commenting on the beer... Ya, the selection sucks

Went last night with my wife, was very impressed. The decor is fantastic, bright and airy. Very well decorated. Loud, but not overly so. Service was good, leaning close to a bit too attentive. I'll chalk it up to being fairly recently opened.

Appetizer was their antipasto platter, more than enough for two and a good value. Pizzas are 9" or 16". We ordered 2 9" pizzas, one prosciutto and arugula and one of their house specials with many types of meat. Toppings were good quality, tomato sauce and cheese were in good proportion. Crust was a bit fluffier than I like, I lean more to a Neapolitan crust. Could be a bit chewier.

All in all, we liked it and will be back since we live not far from there.

Beer list was a bit thin, but the wine list was good. Wednesdays are half price wine, so that holds some attraction for us.

I think Il Centro they served roasted garlic cloves as a side that you could eat, or put on your pizza...

Another pizza week started on Friday. Anyone excited? I'm trying to find some pizzas that interest me. So far the only thing that I'm seeing of interest is the Go Pizza or Go Home and the Halifax Donair Pizza. Bacon Poutine Pizza sounds like a fantastic idea but I'm usually disappointed by these types of concoctions.

Aladdin is good for delivery. They have a lot of variety in the menu which is good with fussy kids.

Had an absolute garbage pizza on Friday. Something like that can just ruin your day.

I've been to PZA a few times and they make a pretty good pizza. I've mostly been getting the cinque and have yet to be disappointed.

New (ish) pizza place opened up close to my neck of the woods. 20th Ave NW, just west of 19th Street. Wheat: Pizza by Jay

We've tried a fair amount now. The traditional house pie Rooster and Pork & Slaw are both top notch. The thin crust Sweet Heat and Truffle are awesome as well.

They are always super friendly when we pick up and toss a freebie in here and there. The homemade hot sauce is tasty.

Hope they stick around for a while. The location is a bit off the busy section of 20th Ave and might be too far off 19th Street to draw in the crowds they are hoping for.

If you're looking for a new pizza joint, give them a shot.

Edit: here's the website http://www.wheatbyjay.ca/

Yup, just west on 20th Ave across 19th Street, just past Branton school.
