I hate Telus ads so much that for every animal they use in their commercials I want to find a baby one and then shoot and eat it. Watch out, panda babies...

Ya, here is a link from 13 years ago. Scary how unchanged this ad campaign has been in over a decade. Shows how little mobility needs to advertise since they have a shared monopoly. Basically run a clean ad that says we have cell phones and that is it.

All this time I thought the only good thing Telus ever did was this style of commercial (though it's gone on far too long). I had no idea it predated them and they just totally stole it when they took over Clearnet. I think the first one I remember was the Hippopotamus for Christmas one.. but man... 13 years. Jesus Christ Telus...

I wonder if they can. When they sold Cantel to Rogers; I would think that Rogers would have included some sort of clause that AT&T couldn't just start up another cell service again.

People should check out the Verizon website if they actually think prices will be cheaper.

Will be more of the same, just another player to share some of the spoils.

More actual competition would result in cheaper plans.

The big three launch an ad campaign against Verizon. Verizon likely won't have lower rates so really, what's the point. Keep it in Canada.

Haha, probably would have been better for the big three not to squeeze wind out of the market.

I'm on the side that thinks that if Verizon was so unlikely to have a better value (rates, service, etc) than the big three wouldn't be making so much bloody noise.

The entry of Verizon to the Canadian market is an immediate positive game changer. Long term may be different, but I suspect not.

As a Wind customer (2 years, 95% happy) I am excited to see how this shakes out.

Really shows you how much Robellus is afraid of actual competition and not their triopoly with biased doublespeak advertising like that. If they hadn't bullied all their competitors and were actually fair to Canadians the government probably wouldn't have resorted to this to legislation changes.

Verizon has a big war chest to work with and can build out the network plus lower rates for substantially longer than Robellus can probably sustain to build out an initial customer base. The competition can only be good for consumers.

Typical unions?

http://business.financialpost.com/20..._lsa=81c9-404f

Thousands of members from two of the country’s biggest unions rallied Friday against federal telecom rules they fear will let foreign firms into Canada without the guarantee of new jobs.

They just joined with the CAW to make a super-union, so they need something to rally the troops. All bluster
