I won't fight you; I'm not one of those big music guys where music defines me, but...

AC/DC? Dude, they probably are the best band of all time come on. And KISS has those two songs everyone likes.

is AC/DC so good that the radio plays them 100 times a day? or to me played at every wedding ever? Yeah they're good. But not THAT good.

While there is no such thing, who is the one musically act that comes closest to being universally liked? Ie. the band who is liked by virtually everyone, regardless of taste or culture or age, and who has a minimal amount of haters.

While the automatic answer may be the Beatles, there are plenty of people out there who dislike them as a backlash or for one reason or another.

My first guess would be Queen. I'm not really sure I know anyone who doesn't at least like Queen a little bit, and Ive never met anybody who outright hates them (cue the CP contrarians). Or perhaps Beach Boys?

I thought about him (and Mozart), but I feel like there are a lot of people (ie kids) who just dislike classical in general.

That's funny, I don't think I had until literally this past weekend at golf when a co worker proclaimed hating Queen when a song of theirs came up on the playlist.

I remember thinking "Wow, I don't think I've ever heard anyone hate Queen".

Nah, U2 is not universally liked at all. There are many who see their music as quite vapid and bland. I like them, but I can see the angle for sure.

The Eagles? That band has had 4-5 masterclass songwriters over it's history and from a technical perspective, it's all top shelf stuff, there's not much to pick at. Overplayed? Don't like the easy-listening blend of country-rock-disco? I've recently rediscovered the band and am prepared to fight.

It all depends on what you consider a picky eater. If not liking kale, artichokes, eggplant, organ meats or any meats that fall outside the norm (seriously I don't see the need to eat every single animal just because it once crawled on the earth) then I guess I'm a picky eater.
