He's going to have to be Superman if Canada has any shot to go far.

First rubber to Sweden as Elias Ymer defeats Steven Diez 6-4 6-2. Steven got out to a 4-1 lead in the opening set and just kind of fell apart after that. Vasek is next up taking on another Ymer (younger brother Mikael).

Can't blame the players that were there, just a shame some didn't go. It's a long season i get it, but it does sting not going to lie.
Can Spain go 2/2 at home and take another title? Next year we are getting a new host city....

I jumped the gun a little early with stating that it's over for Canada at the Davis Cup, they could still advance by beating Kazakhstan, but they would likely have to sweep the Kazakhs and then hope Sweden does the same. Then we would have to look at the tie-breakers. Suffice it to say, getting swept by Sweden 3-zip is not good.

Some food for thought here.
I prefer the old format, but that's just a personal preference.

He's going to be entrenched in the top 10 for quite a while, but please NF, don't assign him with a label reserved for the Edmonton Oilers.

"Gimme a glass of wine or a beer, and I think in two years he wins a slam. That may be a little eager, but I don’t think more than four" - NF, probably

No no that's Alcaraz I honestly see him at like 650 wins and 1,300 ATP points at the end of next year

Kazakhstan beat Sweden, so Canada is out of Davis Cup already.

Germany upset Serbia even without Zverev playing and Djokovic playing singles and doubles.

Agreed. We’re lucky to have someone like Vasek, a true captain Canada.
