The first 15 minutes of this is perfect local access cable nonsense.

Norm!
I don't know if this counts. But the WHO the final show was broadcast from Toronto in 1982 and was amazing.

Just this week they released a studio version of Vampire Empire, but it's so wildly inferior, unfortunately.

Mac Miller with Jon Batiste and Stay Human.
This made me a fan of Miller posthumously.

So funny. First thing I thought was Future Islands on Letterman. Such a random group/performance and it is in the OP.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

That performance was a bit of a viral hit and gained them a lot of new fans. It was in Letterman's final year and he ended up having them back in his final weeks as well.

Came to post Nirvana's unplugged. Probably the greatest live music performance ever captured.

of these so far I remember watching the REM Letterman, the Who Toronto and I suppose Nirvana unplugged 'live' or at airing I guess
Neil Young SNL 1989 ( 3 songs that night, but Rocking in the Free World is the one I suppose) always stands out, I remember my jaw half on the floor thinking "damn I guess he's back'
as an aside recently in the UK and loved that complete episode of Top of the Pops still air in the evenings- caught fantastic 1978 and 1984 episodes one night

Does the BBC Live Lounge count as being on TV?
I'm a complete junkie for covers and there are some absolute gems on there.
