And in the end the most fortunate turn of events was a bad case of shingles that kept Bull Halsey out of the battle.

While Bull was a great admiral, in the case of midway he was too aggressive and would have pushed on the attack on the remaining Japanese fleet, while Spruance took his victories and called it a day instead of risking the loss of the few American carriers that were left. People forget that even with the loss of the 4 Japanese Carriers, the Japanese still outgunned the American fleet and the American's didn't have the airpower to push their advantage after losing about 2/3 of their planes.

I saw the original one pop up on my recommended a long while back. It took forever for the other 2 to be uploaded. Nothing super fancy I don't think.

I didn't see, gold.org says "The best estimates currently available suggest that around 197,576 tonnes of gold has been mined throughout history"

So a bit bigger than that cube I guess.

We used to have the caldron challenge at Banff Springs, where you have that one hole on the edge of a cliff over a river and then the fairway. The rule was you had to do the happy swing at that hole.

We always looked forward to that hole and the loss of a lot of nice golf balls.

This guy is my new youtube hero. He does everything - design, engineering, production, and software, and all to build very cool things. I just finished binging all of his videos, and they're all worth a viewing (or two), but this is his latest.

His wife is hilarious. The one where they did a fake mythbusters episode with the explosive bat is great because she's in it so much. She's my current Internet crush.

Yeah, the image of her glare carved on a pumpkin made me laugh out loud. And some of her comebacks are great -

He: "this is the greatest thing I've ever made"
She: "you have a daughter"
