I guess this should be in here too. That's a lot of Marvel content. Throw in the Star Wars stuff and I pretty much have to subscribe.

If they had a ton of content I can see them doing very well. Most people won't care about the $9 per month which is effectively coffee money for two days.

'The World According to Jeff Goldblum' sounds like promotional material for a very interesting Cult.

New episodes of Disney+ shows will be released weekly. No entire seasons dropping all at once.

Had no idea The Simpsons would be streaming on this platform as well. It makes just it's just astonishing the amount of properties Disney continues to scoop up. Has Homer and company streamed anywhere legally before?

What about other Fox animated shows? Would love to see Futurama agw, but I know they did seasons just for Netflix, potential problem?

FX paid $750 million for exclusive rights to The Simpsons in 2013 making them the only non-Fox station to air the show. It looks like they still have a 2-4 more years of that deal.

If Disney can pick up Paw Patrol, that will be the end of Netflix

FX is a Fox channel, now owned by Disney!

Just going off this article I read this morning.

https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/the...es-1203313166/
Quote:
As previously announced, all episodes from the show’s 30 seasons will be available to stream on Disney Plus upon launch in November. It remains to be seen if forthcoming seasons of the series will change in tone or be lighter on Disney jabs given its new home.
Personally don't know anyone who's watched The Simpsons in15-20 years.. but seasons 3-6+ are arguably some of the best TV ever written.

I honestly didn't think that Disney+ could offer much, but I think for $9 per month it will be a steal.

This should force Netflix to up their game which is what we really wanted to to begin with.

I think Netflix has gotten away with a lot of sub par offerings for years because there was never much competition for big time shows.

It's Disney, they've likely calculated this out and everyone will pay what it's worth and in short order. No one should look at this price as what it will cost.

Netflix ****ed up and was too cheap for so long that when they had to play catch up everyone freaked out like they were charging $50/mth.

Disney is hitting a much more standard marketing approach. Get everyone in with a combination of cheap initial monthly hit and all the content shoved in your face in the form of a rush, amazing trailer.

Prices will jump quickly and steadily and it will likely be $15-$20 within a couple years.

Which, depending on the content and in comparison to Cable pricing, isnt too bad.

Its the nickle-and-diming with multiple streaming services to get all desired content that is irksome.

The problem with Netflix was they had some decent shows & movies, but nothing that compares to Star Wars.

Amazon is doing the Lord of the Rings show, and HBO had Game of Thrones, but I don't think either of those will compare to what Disney will bring to the table.

Either way, yes the market is fracturing and there will be multiple providers, but the competition will be amazing to watch. We should get some amazing content in the next decade.

Smart move by Disney. Will get less people just paying for one month and binging everything they want to watch.

No R rated material on Disney+ either, where does Logan end up?
