i use my garmin fenix as my golf yardage marker. for the longest tie though it was off by about 20m from a friend range finder. another friend told me it was because my distance setting in the watch were set to KM so the units were in meters.

Couple reasons I don’t want one.

A) they’re expensive and I already spent $600 on my watch which should do the same thing

B) I find them bulky and a pain, I just want to glance down and get yardage. Not to mention I seem to get into situations where you can’t see the pin, and a range finder would be useless.

C) I also want hazard distances, not to mention putt tracking, club tracking, handicap, fairways and GIR. The software packages are crazy.

Anyway, Golfshot seems to do all this. It runs in the watch GPS and it syncs properly. Tried it last night and it seems to be the cats pyjamas.

Bearspaw today. Such a nice course. Feels similar to Silver Springs with less houses. Conditions were very nice. Nicest bunkers I've played out of in some time. Course was deserted. Played in just over 3 hours.

Real shame about the clubhouse. That would(will) be a nice place to have a drink after the round. I can see why the members approved the adjustment to make that investment.

It was extremely tiring round when I played (no carts allowed because of heavy rain the night before), couldn't fully enjoy the experience as it's a hell of a walk. Can't wait to get back.

Delacour is in the worst shape I've seen it ever.

It's sad. Coupled with my bad experience at Water Valley, those are two of my favorite local courses that have fallen by the wayside. Hopefully Delacour can rebound next year.

I just golfed Sundre yesterday, and it was in great shape. The greens were easily the fastest greens I've played on this year (not that I've been able to get out much). The fairways are tight, but if you do hit in the trees, there's a good chance you'll be able to find the ball as it's mostly pine straw and not too dense. Their weekday twilight (after 3pm) rate of $39 is a great deal - too bad it's just over an hour away.

For a little more on topic, I played Blue Devil a couple times and they've been out repairing their greens. There are a few holes where the greens are pathetic. "which way do you think it will kick off that sod?" kind of thing.
Hole19.

I have SwingU as well but I find Hole19 far more superior. It synchs with your watch and shows you yardage to front middle and back of green. Once your done you swipe right and can enter your total strokes. Penalties, sand shots and wether you hit the fairway. At the end of the game it emails you a detailed summary of your round.

A very close friend was there over the long weekend and said it was absolutely perfect.

I don't know if they do a fall aeration, but we are getting close to that time up here.

I am playing Canyon Meadows in the morning, a few days before the Shaw starts. Can't wait, it's my favourite course in Calgary.

Always wanted to play Canyon Meadows

I'm playing Crows Nest a week from next Thursday. Can't wait to play the new holes.

Ohhhh and today was round #70 for me this summer.

They probably won’t do the fall aeration ( fairways) until The second week of October, the greens a few weeks before that. We typically play into the second week of November at quite a few courses in the Okanagan but Predator and the Rise usually stop in the last week of October.

It was an amazing season for golf courses in the interior this year. The perfect blend of heat and rain. Most of our courses are in fantastic shape!

tried to walk on mapleridge the otehr day and was told they had a large group of seniors playing and if i wated to to i could wait and see if anyone cancelled and slip inot their spot. all i thought was this has the makings for a 6 hour round.

wound up at heatherglen and he cost was $37 for 18. Wound up plying with a couple of guys. one guy felt the need to always pull out his range finder, even if we were 250 or more yards away from the pin. seemed excessive to me and got annoying the longer the round went on.

for the first time in about a dozen years, i drained a 50 yard wedge shot with a one hopper. it had been quite a while since i had drained a long distance shot like that.

River's Edge punched and top dressed this week.

I'd give it a week before playing.

I shot 5 pars in a single game for the first time in my life last weekend. I also shot 4 quadruple boogies. Wound up with the same score as normal. Easy come, easy go.
