The second skyline view (from the South) is very close to an actual rendering Brookfield put in the DP for 225-6th. CtrlAltDel (the creator) pretty much nailed the height in that one.

The third render in the above post makes it look like a 2010 version on the Husky Towers. Same curvature, but now with 100% less gold cladding

What's that curvey mid-rise adjacent to the Peace Bridge?
I've spotted 3 Eau Claire, Centennial 3, Kings on 4th, Calgary City Centre, EAP 2, and Herald Square in that rendering as building that are proposed or under construction.

That is the Arthur Erickson designed condo for that site owned by Concord Pacific. It would most likely be considered a stale proposal by now, but hopefully it gets going at some point. Such a prime piece of land in Eau Claire, pretty much right in front of the Peace bridge.

Thanks, does it have a name?
Edit: apparently the development name is "Eau Claire".

I'd hate to be in one of those inside units facing the other tower. You'd see so much stuff you wouldn't need a TV anymore.
Nevertheless, pretty ambitious project. It doesn't seem 'stale' at all, seems to be a professional development with a professional website.
On another note, I know that the ATCO III Tower is pretty close to happening.

You are confusing 3 Eau Claire with the one SebC and I are talking about, it's the midrise one left of the Peace bridge.

Muta, that's not the Arthur Erickson Project. The AE one is the one that looks a little like a curvy Liberte, that was going to be right across from the Peace bridge.

In case this is supposed to related to the most recent posts, 3 Eau Claire is not the project we're talking about. The one we're talking about is riverside and its left edge is basically straight down from Nexen's right edge.

Edit: so very beaten.

Interesting nugget that Druh just leaked on Twitter:

A little teaser for all you skyscraper dudes out there; a gorgeous tower is coming to a downtown near you. That is all.

We've heard rumblings about some cool stuff on a few sites in the core. Looking forward to more info and of course some renderings.

Calgary council gives green light to land for massive planned skyscraper
http://www.calgarysun.com/2013/03/04...ned-skyscraper
Brookfield Properties is planning to build a 56-storey, 247-metre tower on the site of the former Calgary Herald building in the core.
It will be 11 metres taller than the Bow Building, which currently holds the title of the tallest structure in Western Canada.
