The back of the box has leaked too.

I like the Homer minifig but the rest are pretty awful.

I posted this somewhere, but it should go here, too.

My friend bought some Christmas Lego set.

Its pretty nice, includes a house, and igloo, a little hut and a truck with a front end shovel attached.

He said it was one of the most complicated Lego sets he had ever put together.

Ha! I just picked that one up. I'm pretty sure the only reason I got it was because it had 2 little lego skiers.

See call me old school, but these preset kits, I don't really count them as lego in the truest sense of the word.

When I was a kid you'd get buckets of lego in all different colors and you'd just build whatever came to mind.

Watching battlestar Galactica, build a cylon raider or a base star or the battlestar itself. Sure its a mixed hodgepodge of red, yellow, white, blue and clear bricks but damnit you didn't have enough white.

Watch star wars and want to build a tie fighter, then build a tie fighter, year the wings fall off the first time you run through the kitchen making Ion engine noises, but that's pretty close to the real thing in the movies right.

Its like mechano which was an amazing thing. especially with all of the motors and stuff. I build a tank that could drive across the floor, stop pivot its turret and fire a little white cylinder at 100 miles an hour. Yeah I had to follow it around becuase in our day the remote control only had a 4 foot cord, but whatever.

you damn kids with your fancy prebuild kits. In our days we had those, we called them models

Anyone built the back to the future DeLorean yet? I was supposed to get it for my birthday, but was not available at the time.

I lied about only having a four sets. I completely forgot about the Christmas Lego.

My wife's family and my family had little Christmas displays our parents would put up. We went the Lego route with ours.

I did a quick Instagram video over x-mas to show some of the details:

There's no reason you can't treat these Lego sets as models, except once you're done building them you can break them down and throw the pieces in the pile you use to make your own creations. Plus you learn interesting building techniques in the process.

The LEGO Simpsons house is available now for $229.99 on the LEGO website for VIP members. Should be at the store in Chinook by tomorrow (should have been today but shipment did not make it) for VIP members as well. Will be available to everyone else on Feb 1st.

Lego contest tomorrow, btw. The adult submissions are pretty good, but always fun to see what the kids conjure up.

A great way to keep Lego available for play and easy to clean up.

I got this one recently:

Spoiler!

And I love it. The winch, rotors, landing gear and rear door all work through the gears. Really fun to build.

I picked it up this afternoon and me and my kids spent 7 hours putting it together. 19 bags of pieces (2,523 total) and 3 big books of instructions. It was much bigger than I though and a blast to build. Put it together while watching the simpsons movie then just random episodes. The detail in this set is great and, unlike most sets these days, most of the featues were constructed using typical LEGO pieces and not special made ones. I'd highly recommend it.

Just last week I finished their PC game for The Lord of the Rings. It was super awesome, I can highly recommend it! As always they use original movie-voices, but do the cutscenes with a lot of humour.
