Based on this, It seems lego house isn't at the other legolands, and that was the highlight for my wife and I. It was like a lego science center.
There's a great documentary on Netflix about the creation of Lego House, if anyone's interested.

This Lego Ideas submission has to become a reality. It's sponge worthy.

It’s $118.99 on Costco’s site. Not as good as the Prime deal but still a decent price if he had his heart set on getting it.

I went to legoland in Toronto with my wife and 2 kids (6 and 11 months) and my 6 year old son loved it! We were in there for over 5 hours lol. We got a couple of really small sets and put them together and my son said he might be ready to try some of the bigger sets.

Legoland was well worth the price of admission IMO and theres a little restaurant/cafeteria that has great prices. It's in the Vaughan Mills mall or whatever it's called so there's lots of shopping and the Bass Pro Shop is in the same mall.

Really worth checking it out if you get a chance

Took the plunge and got our first "official" Lego set (Harry Potter Hogwarts Great Hall) via the Amazon sale. Our daughter is a little older and hasn't had a huge interest in Lego, but she is tearing through the books this summer so we thought we'd give it a try.

Newb question -- are the instructions pretty self explanatory? And once it is built, do most people just display them? I can see them playing with the little figures and such (which I'm fine with), but our kids are the type that will lose/misplace parts at their earliest opportunity, and my OCD will not like that very much...

Awesome. We have that one. Instructions are pretty easy to follow. My son plays with his sets and dismantles them and makes different creations. I was hoping the batcave would stay together, but it didn't. The only set he's not allowed to dismantle is the millenium falcon, because it's mine. If I were to get the Saturn or the mars lander, I'd probably put rules on those two as well. I'm more like Lord Business.

As a kid? No. Build, leave out for a couple days at most, tear apart and put pieces back in a massive bin of lego. Rebuild when I wanted to use it again.

As an adult? They never come apart and are displayed on a shelf.

The latest addition to my collection:

And up at the end of the month in the "shut up and take my money" category:

An update. She put it together pretty much by herself in three days. She would have finished it quicker but we quasi-forced her to stop after day 1 because she was working so quickly. I enjoyed helping build a tiny section with her but she was able to do it herself without much issue.

P.S. Only a wand has gone missing thus far, although there were some extra pieces in the box and every time I saw one my blood pressure went up...

With those massive custom sets...I'd love to BUILD the sets. If those guys handed me 20,000 pcs and some instructions, I'd happily volunteer my time to build the thing and give it back. I looked into being a volunteer builder for the local LEGO store, and it turns out that they have a staffer do it, and it's generally a 'fight' to see who gets to. I'm not surprised, paid to put lego together and get away from customers from a bit, so not shocked. But I figured it couldn't hurt to inquire, since I love to build it so much.

Well, this looks amazing and like it's not nearly as fragile as the 2001 version.

I have the original ISD, this new one looks amazing. I'm sure the value of my OG has been cut down significantly, at one point it was worth $5-8k BNIB. Definitely picking up the revised version.
