Unfortunately Leylah Fernandez has pulled out of Wimbledon due to her foot injury. Serena and Venus looking like they won't be there also. Wonder if this is it for both Williams sisters.
Genie Bouchard will be there tho

You have to wonder if Leylah made things worse by not retiring in set 1? Although I have read she and her team knew there was something not quite right prior to the match.

How can Bouchard be there? Alternate? wildcard? She doesn't even get into qualifying.

I think she is using a protected ranking because she's been injured but not 100% sure

ah, did some digging. Her protected ranking is 118. With all the withdrawls, she's now 1st alternate so by then, she'll definitely get in.

First major final for Coco and I think she will have major nerves. 6-3 6-3 for Iga
Edit: First three games to Iga. Both ladies showing their nerves to start.

The crazy thing is that I don't think Iga is playing all that great (she started to turn it on towards the end of set 1) and she still delivers a breadstick to Coco.

Iga on the board in set 2.
Edit: Coco was up 2-love in set 2, now it's 5-2 Iga

THE IGA IS MERCIFUL. The Iga won the first set 6-1, and then in a show of almost unfathomable charity, offered her opponent two symbolic but otherwise meaningless games of tennis to soften the blow that would follow. She then won the second set 6-1.
THE IGA IS INEVITABLE. BOW BEFORE THE IGA.

A 04-07 Federer without Nadal feel. She's at 2 French Open titles at 21, how many can she get? 5, 10, 14?

Zverev has said he tore several lateral ligaments in his right ankle. That's even worse than breaking his ankle, those ligaments will never be the same.

I'm going with Rafa 6-2,6-4,6-4. I think he will be pushed in moments but Ruud has never played in a match this big before and I don't think he has the weapons to beat Nadal. Now if Nadal's foot is not feeling good or he is tired from the previous matches I could see this being much closer.

Rafa takes the opening set 6-3. Kind of a ho-hum match thus far.
