That account is so over the top it almost seems like a fake pretending to be Melnyk's secret account.

Refers to him solely as "Our Owner". Always capitalized. Praises all the moves. Uses Trump like grammar and diction.

If I wanted to make a fake account and attribute it to an owner to make them look bad, that's exactly what I'd do. It's almost too obvious.

Today is the 45th anniversary of the sinking of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald.

I've heard the Gordon Lightfoot song many times in my life, but it was only within the last few years that I realized how soon after the sinking he recorded the song.

I always assumed it had happened decades before the song, but he actually recorded the song only a few weeks after the sinking.

Wow. Musical genius. Haven’t listened to that in a while.

I didn't know until recently what macaroni referred to in Yankee Doodle

"stuck a feather in his cap and called it macaroni"

During the 1770s there emerged a new type of fashionable fellow: the Macaroni, whose style was frequently and easily lampooned by cartoonists and the media.

I'll take 18th century fashion trends that named a penguin for $100.

The Ohio River flow is higher than that of the Mississippi River so hydrologically, the Ohio River is the main stream of the river system. The Allegheny River is, by volume, the main headstream of both the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.

Today I learned that the letter "H" in the Montreal Canadiens logo does not stand for "les Habitants" as is widely posited. Rather, the logo stands for "Canadiens Hockey"; a shortened form of the franchise's full name: "Club de hockey Canadien."

That all the gold that has been mined through our history would fit in about 3.5 Olympic sized swimming pools, which is about 187,000 metric tonnes.

The total dollar value of the gold in the world is based on todays price of I think 1,800 per ounce is 11,873, 228,400,000

The total value of the global economy in terms of purchasing power is about 127,8 trillion dollars.

Its weird the discussions that you have with your friends.

It's actually three times the depth of the grand canyon.

Candy manufacturers, like skittles and sour patch kids, sell excess inventory and/or expired product to pig/cattle farmers as food. Had no idea.

We don’t have cable, so missed Schitts Creek and all that was happening around it on TV. Wife and I just binged it on Netflix and loved it. Then we watched the “behind the scenes” show on Netflix...

I had no idea David was “Daniel Levy”... and it’s so obvious! I just thought it was great casting, and Eugene co-wrote it with his brother or something. Kinda neat to learn about that after we had finished the show, but I feel boneheaded!

I have the a local channel package on my satellite dish just to get the CTV and CBC news (I'm just a bit too far away from Calgary to be able to use a HD antenna). We only use it to get the local news, other than that, we watch Netflix and Amazon Prime.
