Or that you can have 4 players at +40 or better (Gilmour +45, Patterson +44, McCrimmon +43 and Macoun +40) and they still don't win the +/- award that year.

Mullen won it at +51
The 89 team simply murdered opponents. It was the one year I thought the team had true killer instinct.

Guy has as many goals as James Neal this season while playing 5 games and at only 9 minutes on average. We’re talking about 476 less minutes played and yet they’re tied for goals somehow.

The 87-88 team was more impressive offensively but the gilmour transaction amongst other things rebalanced the roster as a two way juggernaut

Quine too. I like the way he skated and made plays. He's finished some of his chances.

The last Flame to score 100 pts in a season was Fleury in 1992-93.

For those keeping score, Alan Quine now has three times as many goals as Milan Lucic this year.

Hasn't felt this good to be a Flames fan in a long time. It's hard to know what the real potential of the team is, but the Tampa game should be a good one.

Thought Iginla had one but looks like he came close three times but no cigar.

Six points away in 2007 while missing 12 games. Damn!

The Monahan ( Lady Byng) line has a total of 14 PIM.

Sean and Johnny with 4 PIM each.

Impressive.

Just got to see the highlights. Wow! That Gaudreau goal was a crazy shot. Made it look so casual and easy too.

Fabulous the chat about that 89 team.

Early yet but as we head into the magical holiday week do we start daring to dream a little??

Wow! What a difference 1 month and a half make. In October, we went 3 - 6 - 1 (after the infamous 9 to 1 humiliation vs Pitt at home), lost in the shootout next game vs Washington. We ended October winning 2 straight vs Toronto and Buffalo. So, after the Wash. game, we were 3 - 6 - 2. Remember this?

People were calling for heads to roll! Brody should have been traded. Treliving should have been fired for his moves with players and coach. It was a complete meltdown from a fair number of people here in CP. Since then, unless I missed something, the Flames have gone 19 - 4 - 0. I had to look a few times to make sure if that's accurate. I'm sure someone can take a quick peek and see if that is indeed true.

I have cheered for the Flames since the early 80s. Yes, I am over 40 lol! As has been mentioned by a few people already, I love seeing this team win in so many ways. Low scoring, tight games, blowouts, holding on for wins, clutch performances, so much fun to watch! After last year's performances, boring hockey, poor home record, this is so refreshing.

I am also excited by what I am seeing with this particular group of players. They are winning in spite of Neal and Smith's poor starts to this season. I am hopeful they can turn things around. That's part of what a team does; pick each other up even when some are struggling, and still find ways to WIN!!! Love it so far.

Go Flames Go!

That would be completely insane.

When was the last time a team had 5 players who finished the season with a point per game or more?

7-5-1 in October. Pittsburgh loss dropped them to 5-5-0. 17-5-2 since then.

Sorry to be that guy, but you should have looked one more time

After the PIT game, they were 5-5-0. After WAS, 5-5-1.

Since then, they have gone 17-5-1

(but all your points still stand)
