It's pretty vague and stupid of the guy to even drop information like that but I don't doubt that that's true. Vladar could be popping eight Advil's a day and it wouldn't surprise me. Wouldn't be quick to blame the team either, they might not know how bad the pain was. Monahan, stupidly, hid his pain when he was here.

Vladar definitely had some fantastic games this season, though consistency seemed to be a factor. I feel it is relatively safe to say that Vladar wasn't at his best playing with pain and with painkillers. Hopefully he plays lights-out next season in a tandem with Wolf.

While I agree with you...hip surgeries on butterfly-goalies dont always lead to better results.
Can they give him Bionic legs? Maybe make him into something like a Robocop goalie?

I don't think it's hyperbole at all. When you listen to former NHLers speak, a lot of them say they are given a bunch of pills just to get through an 82 game season.
Guys on spitting chiclets have mentioned it numerous times as well as their guests.
I hope its gotten better but not optimistic. Lots of guys who have retired within 5 years have mentioned it as well sometimes they don't even know exactly what they are taking.

I don’t think sticking with Markstrom benefits anyone. Especially if they don’t spend any money in the off season on upgrading talent.
