My boy's love of rugby makes me happy.

Not just because I absolutely love the sport and miss playing every single day.

Since the high school season he has thrown himself into the game. He was selected to play Calgary U16 in a new position and was key to them winning the Alberta Rugby Championship. He is now off to selection camp for Alberta team that is headed to BC in Aug for Western Canada Championship.

It's nice to see him find success in a sport he has "hitched his wagon to".

I've documented the stories of my parents and family struggles. While my Mom continues to struggle with Dementia, she seems to have stabalized. My Dad has done a great job of confronting his anxiety and depression and has returned to painting and picked up puzzle building.

He recently designed a Dragon tattoo for me that I got today, and think turned out really well thanks to Jon at Architect Tattoo in the SE, who made little changes to my Dad's drawing.

Been trying to make more of a point to actually read real books. Like paper ones. Anytime the device comes out it’s short “hits” of social Media, news, politics, work, or sports. A real book helps me put the device away and disconnect.

Looking forward to reading the sequel to Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which was a bit wild and certainly a very different writing style and content. Never watched the movie though… don’t want to be disappointed.

After 11 long months my duties as executor of my mothers will is coming to a close. Both my brother and sister have agreed to the terms of the settlement. All that is left is for monies to be disbursed through the lawyer.

I learned a lot from doing all this and i'm glad it's over.

Sounds like it was a Challenge.
I’ve been asked to also be an will executor for one of my parents. Any advice? To be honest it does make me anxious and concerned about the size of the burden and time involved. I work full time and don’t have that much “spare” time in life with all my other commitments.

Took a spontaneous road trip to High River this afternoon for lunch. Good to get out of the city for a few hours.

Okotoks to High River along 2A is a nice drive. I was out there today as well and they had some of the chuckwagon teams and their horses along the road by the rodeo grounds.

Its just a softener before they ask for their CERB back two years after the fact for the eight weeks you were forced to take off because the first payment "didn't count".

Seaman Stadium was the place to be on Saturday night as they hosted the Inaugural WCBL All-Star Game. The game also featured a Homerun Derby. Close to 4,500 fans enjoyed the festivities.

Nolan Machibroda of the Weyburn Beavers won the Gold bat for winning the HR Derby by hitting 5 in the final round. He also hit 9 in the prelims.

Jordan Phillips of the Edmonton Prospects finished runner up with 4 homeruns and got the Silver bat.

The game it self was a thriller with the West tieing the game with a 2 run single in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game at 8-8. The West winning in the bottom of the 10th with a walk off single.

The night ended with fireworks and fans mingling with players on the field and getting autographs.

My son has reached the age where he's strong enough and just coordinated enough to have a decent game of catch with a baseball, so awesome.

My neighbor finally cut down a dead tree on his lawn, and he let me carry away all the dead twigs I wanted. There's gonna be a seriously cool decoration on my lawn come Halloween!
