I'd be willing to pay $3.00 to try a donut that didn't taste like a piece of stale, greasy cardboard, for sure.

No way I'd buy a dozen of them though.

If they make them themselves and in house, then ~$2 for a donut isn't that bad. Tim Horton's donuts are absolutely awful now.

From http://www.timhortons.com/ca/en/menu...alculator.html

A Tim hortons Triple chocolate donut is

Calories:310 Fat:10 g Protein:4 g Carbs:51 g Fibre:1 g Sugar:24 g

A Boston Creme is:
Calories:250 Fat:8 g Protein:4 g Carbs:40 g Fibre:1 g Sugar:13 g

I can not see these Jelly modern doughnuts being that much healthier for you.

That's sort of the crux of my post.

Since when did organic = healthy?

It is almost as bad as "natural". Hemlock is natural, but I wouldn't recommend eating it.

But they are buzz words to fool people into paying more. I think it is more proven by marketing than it is by medicine.

Organic just means that it is not genetically modified although I agree with you on all your points.

You mean "organic" isn't a synonym for "healthy and low fat"?

I've gotta say i'm a bit luckier than most. The parents of one of my best friends growing up own Glamorgan bakery and he had a key.... Nothing better after a night out then free reign on baked goods at 2 am...

I hear people saying these are bigger then a normal donut, but looking at the pictures on their website they look normal size. Are they bigger then a donut from Tims? (not the texas ones above the fancy ones)

I'd like to try a gourmet donut. Three bucks is nothing.

^^ I'd say they're about 50% bigger than a Tim Horton's donut.

To some people, it sure seems to be. Perception is an interesting thing.

That's not what organic means. It has to be grown without pesticides and herbicides.

Also, the idea that organic food is healthier is right up there with "I'll get better gas mileage with premium gas."

Everybody knows that grain-fed doughnuts are way healthier than doughnuts that are raised on human slops and bits and pieces from other doughnuts.

Had a couple today, the maple-bacon and the PB&J. Delicious, although a bit sweet for my taste. Definitely better than the Timmy Ho's donut and like a previous poster said, about 50% bigger. Worth a shot.
