So Janko can be “HeeHee” because his initials are M.J.?

In the 34 games since:

- Gaudreau has 55 points in 34 games
- Ryan has 16 points in 34 games
- Backlund has 10 goals (and 20 points) in 30 games
- Bennett has 16 points in 32 games
- Hanifin has 21 points in 34 games
- Brodie has 22 points in 34 games
- Smith has been relegated to backup, and has gone 9-3-0 with a .902 SV%
- Rittich has excelled as starter with a 15-3-4 record and a .913 SV%

That's a testament to the strength of the team -- and Ryan has been a huge part of it.
November 15, 2003. Pretty big turning point after a loss to EDM if I recall.

Derek Ryan has been better since around Christmas time or shortly before and even way better the past 2 weeks.

He's doing really useful things offensively now and actually looking legitimately dangerous with his offensive game as opposed to being good defensively but hardly even remotely threatening offensively before.

I don't see a need to fiddle with the bottom 6 right now. Both lines have played well recently and seem to be developing chemistry. Let them ride that.

(Not that I'm opposed to making changes either, just don't see a real need.)

As fans, we all have a roll to play.
Some fans cheer, others criticize. Me, I watch them play like ass in Montreal every year so that they can turn their season around for the rest of you.

I'm taking donations for next year's tickets ;-)

Not every year.
I was at the Bell Centre 2014-15 and 2015-16, and the Flames hammered the Habs in both.

Wasn't the 2015-16 game at Bell one of the Nicklas Backstrom games?

It's in medicine. Close enough, I guess?

There are PhD programmes in pharmaceutics and pharmacology.

I doubt Ryan was enrolled in a PhD program before making the bigs

Although that Montreal NFLer is setting a precedent

Remember when Ryan was terrible offensively?

17 points in his last 35 games.

Lately he has been right up there with Mikael “can’t create his own offence” Backlund.

Meant to circle back to this earlier because the Pharmacist thing didn't seem right.

“Doc” graduated from the U of A with a degree in human physiology.
Seems like the nickname stems from his initials DR dating back to his junior days and nothing else. Maybe misremembering/confusing the other information?

Holy toledo, I may have seen him play when I was in graduate school in Edmonton.

why does this thread exist?

He's come as advertised. On pace for 33 points, good faceoff man (almost 57%), good PKer, can play up and down the lineup. He's exactly the kind of bottom 6 center you want to have. You win with depth players like that.

Ryan's been awesome, better than he was in Carolina. Love having him on the bottom lines and even the powerplay. He's really settled in and become the guy I wanted to see a Flame for so long.
