It's been a long time coming...

Needless to say, the Battle of Alberta is the hottest ticket in town and everybody wants in. Even the undesirables. Luckily the Flames have a gatekeeper who's more than capable of keeping out the rabble:

Spoiler!

Go Flames

I was only 1 last time there was a Battle of Alberta playoff series.

2006 I got excited about the concept of finally seeing one, but we all know what ended up happening.

Glad that now is finally the time.

Will be interested to see if this game the Flames have a much easier time scoring compared to last series as a whole.

The dome is gonna be wild. Gonna be a fun night.

Stay calm and play the system.the Flames are built to win a marathon, the Oilers are built to win a sprint.

Every hit on the Oilers defense and McDavid/Draisatl will pay dividends down the stretch as they will eventually wear out.

Ah yes, the 1991 Joyride album. That means the Oilers are going to get "The Big L." The fans will be "Hot Blooded," so enough "Small Talk," this will be a "Perfect Day!"

The Battle of Florida was a complete dud last night, I’m confident the Battle of Alberta will show them the blueprint of how rivals really treat one another: passion, hate, and no mercy!
Go Flames!

The bleeping Ducks ruined that potential BOA and wrecked that chance again in 2017 against the Flames.

Predicting a long emotional series going for 7 games, not sure if the Flames will win game one though, but I believe they will win the series.

Expecting some really loud “Whiner!” chants from the crowd when ever McDiver cries for a penalty.

Discipline and stay out of the penalty box!

If the Flames can do this in the series, they’ll be fine.

Go Flames Go!

I was 14 and living my last two years in Calgary the last time this happened. I did not know at the time that would be the last BOA in the playoffs. It happened more often than not back then.

I also did not know that life would change two years later, mostly for the better, when I moved to Ontario. You could not have told me at that time that it would be the right move, but it was for me and my family.

One thing that never left though was my passion for the Flames. I am so ridiculously pumped for tonight!

My kids are roughly the same age that my sister and I were at that time. They have a much easier life than we did and I have to remind myself of that daily as they are struggling through things all of the time. My son only has a passing interest in hockey on TV, (he's almost always up to going to a game and we do go to Columbus every year, pandemic excluded, and try to get to others). I am hoping that he will watch tonight and that hockey can maybe be the escape from the day-to-day issues that come at that (and any) age, as it was and sometimes still is for me.

Anyway, I am not predicting anything other than this game will be a tone setter and the Flames will play a good game. I will say that the Flames will win the series in 6. Go Flames Go!
