I don't mind who wins this series… as long as Toronto loses!

Tough draw for the Leafs to get TB in the first round. Will Gio be the difference they need? Tough one to call for me but the Leafs have to win this one.

Leafs absolutely have to win this one, which is why they choke. They won’t be able to handle the pressure. Tampa is playing with house money after two cups in a row.

Chris Cuthbert, Craig Simpson, Kyle Bukauskas, and Shawn McKenzie are the commentators for this series.

Stats are based on regular season results. And in this series, even more than any other, the regular season means nothing.

How successful they were in the regular season will not remove the gorilla that is on the backs of the Leafs.

As for the Bolts, being 2-time defending champs is all you need to know. Their regular season means nothing, their playoff experience, and confidence, is all they need.

The Bolts, as you say, also have the better goalie.

Hate the Leafs. Despise the Lightning.

It will never happen but Leafs in however many games it takes.

I just don’t know about the Leafs goaltending. At times they have to outscore their opponents to win games and I don’t think that’s how you can beat the lighting. Seems like a possible rerun of their 1st round matchup against the Panthers last season.

Goaltending will definitely be the critical factor in this series. Toronto definitely doesn't have goaltending that is good enough to win but Tampa goaltending has been struggling during the second half. If Vasilevskiy steps it up the Leafs will be in trouble.

Moneypuck has the Leafs 56.9% vs Tampa 43.1%

PlayoffStatus has the Leafs 56% vs Tampa 44%

NHL.com staff picks were Leafs 3 votes vs Tampa 13 votes

I think the writers are right, Marner stays on the perimeter, Matthews struggles with the physical game and under performs, Tampa in 6.

As much as I will always dislike Tampa for 2004, I(as a logical Canadian) can not in good conscience pull for the Leafs.

I think that the Bolts surprisingly win this in 5 games. The Leaf's are a good team, Tampa is that lion in the grass that's been there and done that.

For the Leaf's if they lose in the first round again, look for the rebuild to begin.

Tampa in 7. Leafs aren't notably any different than in the past, Gio was a good add but couple years too late probably. He's slowing down at this point. Tampa will play a physical game, clutch and grab as much as possible against Mathews and Marner. They have all the experience in the world. Keefe is already complaining about it lol.
