Dining out may be over for you then. How about bars/pubs where people make your drinks?

yeah. Even before covid. If you were ever concerned on what goes on in a kitchen, you'd have never left your house to eat. ever.

A lot worse than a cook talking over your plate, that's for sure. Those of you who have also worked in hospitality know exactly what I mean.

And it's not hole in the wall places, either. In my experience, some of the worst offenders were the nicest/most expensive places.

I think MoneyGuy is the same poster that said that he would stiff the waitress for a tip if she wasn't wearing a mask when it was not even a mandate. Home cooking sounds like it's more up his alley until he gets more comfortable.

They actually just reversed their statement yesterday. They were, in fact, telling healthy individuals not to get boosted.

In a statement, the WHO said the Technical Advisory Group on COVID-19 Vaccine Composition "strongly supports urgent and broad access to current COVID-19 vaccines for primary series and booster doses, particularly for groups at risk of developing severe disease."

The WHO has previously spoken out against administering COVID-19 booster shots, arguing that wealthier countries should abstain from administering additional doses while low- and middle-income countries have struggled to provide initial rounds of vaccinations for their populations.

To be fair if you’re not tipping a set amount across the board your subjective reason for not doing so is probably just as valid or invalid.

So if I normally tip 20% and decide to tip 15% because some waitress was talking moistly as she was holding my plate, that's wrong? I guess we disagree.

Are you telling us that you felt it noteworthy to tell that story -- all over a difference of 5% in your tip?

* Five percentage points.

It's actually a 25% lower tip to the waitress.

Don't be a pedant. A tip of between 15-20% is not particularly noteworthy if you're in the service industry, it's a pretty standard tipping range for most people.

All I'm saying is I don't think someone makes a story out of "I tipped 15% when I normally tipped 20%".

It’s wrong to adjust your tip for any reason.

It’s a rather disgusting mix between slavery and prostitution.

To do it for uniform reasons where some customers will penalize the person for wearing one and some will penalize for not wearing is gross

You'll get no argument from me on whether or not tipping culture needs to be taken behind the shed with a rifle.

I tip alogirthmically - but I tip a higher % at restaurants with a low ticket cost. It's just as much work to bring me pancakes at IHOP as it is a steak.
