Didn’t players learn that in the first few seasons of the NTCs

I really feel Tyler Johnson going on waivers changed the urgency of some signings today for forwards. I would love calgary to pick him up, but get the feeling there is a few teams that will likely lay a claim. Of course many teams would be hand cuffed if the made a claim without knowing if he will fall to your tram or not. I suspect at 10am there is going to be some more players signed, thinking Toffoli, Smith level.

Sure they did. I am just saying stuff like this causes bad blood between players and teams.
Johnson gave the Lightning 8 teams he was willing to go to when he wasn't obligated to give them any teams. They are still trying to go around his wishes.
Agents will take notice for future negotiations.

10 AM i believe.
I believe that the Bolts already made a deal with a team to claim him if they waived him. Something down the line to complete it. A trade without his approval so to speak.

for clarity, they get the window if someone files for arbitration, they don't even have to reach it

So he wouldn’t waive for Detroit. Tampa waives him. Detroit claims him. Detroit trades Tampa a couple prospects for a 7th?

If this is the case ,better hope acquiring GM can sell Johnson on the team. Tyler is not going to be happy if he is claimed by a team he did not want to play for. Not sure I would want to bring in a guy hating the situation into locker room.

Johnson has never been known to have a poor attitude or be unprofessional. He might be disappointed with how things turn out, but he's the type of guy that will make the best of it.

I don't pick him up at this cap hit. But at ~$2.5-3M he be good value. Johnson can play RW. Doesn't help the Flames with size on the wing, though.

Wow, does he expand his no trade list now? Slap in the face to have no one want you at your salary.

Mildly surprised that he cleared.

Not surprising. At his full cap hit he's not worth a roster spot

Tampa's going to tell him either expand you're list or enjoy the AHL. I don't think he'll have a choice
Tampa's going to have to add a pick and do something like the M. Staal to Detroit deal to get rid of his full cap hit

I get people are entitled to their terrible opinions, but at least try to be a little right.

I am sure a trade will get done with Tampa sweetening the deal and retaining money. Is that possible?
