My fiancee bought me a Tag Heur Carrera. Love it. Cost $3200, but got a good deal on it. I'm East Indian, so it's usually custom for the girl to buy the guy a nice watch and a nice suit besides his ring.
Here it is:

I'll probably replace the rubber strap with metal down the road.

I Scuba dive quite a bit and right now I have a Citizen Eco-Drive. But I have just ordered the Suunto D6. If you are a diver this is the watch for you!

for the top one, the big dots are hours, little dots at minutes and the squares are seconds. for date, big dots = months, little dots = days.
for the bottom one, the top group of 12 are hours, middle 6 are 10's of minutes (6th one doesn't light up), bottom group are minutes. I can't remember if it has date also ,but it'd do it in similar fashion.

I'm not much of a watch person, I'm more into the designer handbags and shoes...but this is my Guess one, I love it.

I'm glad this thread got restarted. Would any of you buy a rolex from kijiji?
I know there are some pretty good fakes out there but can you fake the box and papers?

Maybe I'm a snob, but watches are not something I would buy used. I'd rather pay a little more and have something brand new at an authorized dealer with warranty service. Especially when there's such a large industry of fake designer watches... particularly Rolex and Omega, but everyone under the sun too whose watches may exceed $100.
I bought an Omega Seamaster chronograph knockoff for fun in 2005... the thing lasted a year and a half, if that... luckily it was only about $75 plus about $30 in strap and battery adjustments, but its a mistake I'll never make twice.
Conversely, my old Swiss Military watch I bought in 1998 for $120 still runs great... its just too old, beat-up and ugly to wear anymore.

I think it would be a lot easier to fake a box and papers then a watch itself.

I'm no expert when it comes to distinguishing between an authentic and a fake Rolex, but "appraised around $7500" for a SS date makes me raise an eyebrow...

yup, exactly.
Very impractical way of telling time and you look like an idiot when people ask you for the time, but it's kinda neat.
