It's time for the 8th annual Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking, but at a different time of year and certainly at a different time.
First a look back at previous years can be done with this handy link: Previous Results
Once again vote how you want. There are those that vote 100% on potential, some that vote 100% on the likelihood to see an NHL rink, others that apply a mix, some using the value in a trade. Completely up to you.
I'll run one a day until we are done, and then FlamesAddiction wants to do a one off list version to compare the results.
We start with 35 names so this should get us pretty close to a Flames camp.
Nodler is on the USA WJC invite list, so might be considered among the best American players in his age group for the role that he is expected to play. Should be in the mid-teens, IMO
I wouldn't be surprised to see Philp near a PPG in the AHL this year and pushing for a place in the roster next year. He is a dynamic and smart player with good wheels and a great shot. Seems to be a carbon copy of Derek Ryan including the right shot - in fact, maybe he will replace Derek next season!!
Wow, that's nuts. Both Pospisil and Philp should be around 5-10 spots higher IMO

I just think it's interesting how different each person's perspective is in these rounds. People see things in Noddler that I definitely don't.
I still believe that at least one of the players left becomes a regular NHLer. We all just have almost no idea which player(s) that will be.
I voted for Artem Zagidulin, because I could see him rebounding after an iffy first year in North America. But his KHL numbers so far don't look too promising, in a small sample size.

Just curious how deep people see our prospect pool?
First time it’s been this deep in recent memory? Obviously 2013 when we had Gaudreau and Monahan both on this list it had the highest top end talent but in terms of depth first time in maybe ever since I followed this team in 2001.
