Denis is done losing to Simon in three sets (6-1 4-6 6-2 for Simon). It's tough to win with 13 double faults in three sets.

Drat. Looks like FAA is going to face Nishioka again.
Nishi #2 beat Struffi 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(3).

Nishioka prevails over Struff in three sets (3rd set went to a tie-breaker). It's going to be a tough one for Felix as Nishioka leads the H2H 3-zip.

Very disappointing news out of Antwerp this morning as Milos pulled out of the European Open tourney with an abdominal injury.
Edit: It must be quite serious as he's pulled out of the Vienna tourney as well.

Man this is awful news, Milos was playing pretty well before the injury. I hope it's not the end of Milos at 29 he's getting up there in tennis age.

I did say it could be quite serious above, but it could also be that he is just trying to be cautious as previously he has tried to play through injuries and just made things worse. He did take a MTO in his match yesterday so something was already flaring up.

Wow, quite the collapse by Davidovich Fokina today - Won the first set 6-2 and was up 5-2 in set 2 (had a match point on Schwartzman) and Diego comes back to win 2-6 7-6 6-1

Well, Felix has been pushed back at least another hour as Mannarino forces a 3rd set against Zverev.

Four games in and four breaks of serve.
Edit: Felix holds in game 5 (but it wasn't easy).

Felix breaks to start set 2 - Nishioka had a tough match yesterday and looks to be running on fumes, Felix needs to keep the foot on the gas.

The star power at the Vienna Open next week is insane. It's going to be like the 2nd week of a major, Djokovic, Thiem, Shapo, Wawrinka, Felix, Diego, Tsitsipas, Medvedev can't wait.

Looking forward to the Zverev - Sinner match that starts in about an hour. I give the Italian kid a good chance of upsetting Zverev. Felix and Diego will follow this match. Pretty good day of tennis in Cologne upcoming.

Zverev takes the opening set in a tie-breaker (7-3 was the tie-breaker score). Sinner was up 4-1 in the first set before dropping four straight games, then it was three consecutive breaks of serve before the German prevailed in the tiebreak.

Zverev takes it 7-6 6-3 - Sinner had his chances in that 2nd set to get back on serve, but just couldn't cash in. Felix should be on court in about 20 minutes or so.

Schwartzman takes the opening set 6-4 - A break of serve in the opening game was the difference.

Diego serving for the match at 5-4 in set 2. Felix has played really well today, but unless he can pull off a break here, his time in Cologne will be over.
/FAA has two break points in the second game of this set, but couldn't convert. Diego broke him the very next game.
