Yeah I have no problem spending real money on hardware when it makes a real difference in doing work. Saving a few minutes every code compile or spending extra for an Internet connection that uploads big files faster makes total sense.
Drives me crazy when my employer won't spend money on things that increase productivity and will pay for themselves almost immediately and cost a fraction of what they pay me.

So I managed to also snag an MSI Suprim from Best Buy today. The Zotac is coming in tomorrow and the MSI is coming on Tuesday. I’m a fair bit conflicted between which to keep. Looking at Reddit and other forums people have been complaining a great deal about the coil whine from the MSI but there hardly with the fan noise. Conversely, with the Zotac there doesn’t seem to be much coil whine (better than the MSI) but the “fan motor” is very loud and obnoxious. The cost difference is $179.
Anyone see any other feedback about the two cards regarding noise?
As an aside, if someone wants the card I don’t pick let me know. I’m happy to meet you at Best Buy, return the card, and then you can buy it. Best Buy doesn’t allow returns on open video cards so it’ll be sealed.

I would take a Suprim 10/10 times over a Zotac. MSI cards are generally extremely solid, the only issue with AIO cards is the VRAM tends to be a bit more toasty than air-cooled, while the GPU die is cucumbered.
$999USD for the 7900XTX and $899USD for the 7900XT, cards coming in December 13.
When do the reviews come out? In the week before the release? I hope not, earlier reviews might result in more people waiting.
Embargoes are usually lifted on the day of release. Reviewers got cards handed to them at the keynote speech. Reviewers will have them for over a month now to test but can't usually talk about the performance untill the general release date. That's why you see videos before release saying not to be specific or we noticed this (without to much detail) is different than last time. Before general release most reviews can comment about looks size , noise but performance is always embargoed till avaliable to public dates

Hopefully we'll see some leaks.. I'm pretty sure the rasterization performance is going to be enough for good 4K gaming but will the RT performance increase be sufficient is the question. I get the feeling that it won't.
EDIT: Yeah there's an LTT video about the 7900's and given the claimed RT increase by AMD they estimate (for example) 4K RT frame rate for Cyberpunk 2077 at 24fps vs 4090's 43. Worst case scenario for both and FSR/DLSS are needed in either case to be playable but that kind of tells the story. LTT might be a bit off but we know it's not going to match the 4090 in RT.

The "extrapolated" FPS based on the "50% faster than the 6900 XT" comments puts it in striking distance of the 4090...for non-RT titles.
Good pricing though.
I haven't watched the video yet, but in this interview here the AMD representative supposedly states that the 7900XT/XTX are targeting the 4080 as its competition and not the 4090. Again, I've not watched yet but there seems to be good information in this video.
There were 80 in stock. But it went pretty fast. Last week I think there was a re-stock of 30 and this week 80. Maybe another refresh next week too. Hopefully those that want them will be able to get them very soon.

$2600 to $2700 for a 4090FE on Facebook, that's quite a bit less than what they're selling for on eBay... Is it considered scalping if I buy an already scalped 4090 and re-scalp it?

My browser alert for nowinstock.net kept going off for probably 5-10 minutes after I lost out even though it was sold out which was pretty annoying. Atleast for now it's in my cart so that's one less step to avoid.
####, I was dragging my feet but it was still available when I went through the process for giggles. I guess I'm getting a new video card? wtf am I doing?
Okay, now I need to actually research if this will fit in my case.
dummy.
