Agreed. Now seems to be the time to be buying young Dutch players. They're experiencing quite the resurgence.

Also...anyone here actually know what the deal with Messi is?
I'm hearing all kinds of conflicting reports from:
- His Get Out of Barca Free Clause being nullified because they didnt slide the dates due to Covid like they did for everything else
- Without that clause his buyout clause is something like £700M
- His wages being £100M per year
- He might have to sit out a year
I mean, these seem pretty preposterously unbelievable....but it is Barca and Messi...so you never know.
That being said, I'm all for City or some other stupid team paying £700M for him and being stuck with that on their wage bill.
Go for it. Fill your boots.

yeah it's getting ugly. Messi and his legal team are convinced that the clause should slide and that he's out of contract, Barcelona and La Liga obviously see it differently. The 700m clause is true, it all just comes down to whether the contract is still valid. It's a case for the lawyers now I guess.
I will say this, I feel no sympathy towards a club that is stupid enough to put an out clause like that into the contract of a player, nevermind your most valuable asset and arguably the best footballer ever. They only have to blame themselves.

It's gonna be quite the showdown, but with the financial problems Barca have at some point you figure they will fold. Even if they only get £100 million as a fee that is still £100 million, plus the wage savings as well. Would be kinda crappy though if he does come to the PL and there aren't even fans there to witness it. But would be in line with 2020 being 2020.

Maybe the most interesting was Christian Eriksen, because he seems reasonable and rational about things, but at the same time the club seemingly knows nothing. Levy explains to Mourinho at one point that they've heard nothing from him or his agent at all and there's nothing much they can do. Obviously he's on the bench and only been brought on for a few minutes here and there (although he did contribute to them beating Red Star and then Wolves). Pretty weird though...everyone knows he's out, but he's obviously got to ply his trade until January.

Leverkusen manager basically confirmed that Havertz is not returning to the team after duties with Germany.
He has to be registered in the next few days in order to avoid the 14 day mandatory quarantine.
What a signing...

Chelsea are gonna spend $250m, and still haven't bought long term CB's nor GK's.
I mean, carry on Roman.

Don't know much about him but seems at the very least it's a good squad strengthening move. Worse case he takes a space on the bench away from Lingard and Periera who I hope are on their way out.
United have a great starting 11 but a terrible bench. Would love to see LB coverage as Williams, doesn't cut it there, notwithstanding it's his wrong side. I'd be open to seeing Fred getting a few outings there in the cups as not a foreign position to him....seriously. If Shaw is out for any length of time LB is going to be a huge problem and you can be guaranteed that that's where opposition teams are going to be attacking. It's probably the position that worries me most.
Wish Ed would stop Edding about and just get Sancho.

There is no way they don't get a keeper and they aren't done after Havertz.
Pretty sure they will go after Declan Rice pretty hard once Havertz is announced.

I remember all the praise Lampard got last year because he actually 'believed in youth' and this wont be like the old chelsea, he wants to play young english players and give them a chance
Transfer ban lifts and they start buying every attacker they can and now tammy and mount might get a few cup games

Mount will get a lot of game time. He is like Lampard's son.

Everton gunning for that annual Transfer Window Cup. But Ancelotti is actually a good manager so maybe this is the year it translates to results?

James Rodriguez going to Everton is the funniest #### ever. Only last week he complained about the oh so terrible weather in Munich and how it basically ruined everything for him, and now he's moving to Liverpool?! Can't make it up.

I feel like those are some good pieces though. I'd have taken James or Doucoure at Spurs, and I think that Everton is making some good moves this year.

James strikes me as a bit of a Diva. Lots of talent, but not a lot of Effort.
That'll go over well in Everton.

So Villa poking around, with a Romero inquiry.
Including him (*£ of course), in a Grealish swap if Sancho won’t occur, would be a decent Winger consolation.

United need a right winger though. Big fan of Grealish, but a.) he's overpriced as hell and b.) signing van de Beek makes him redundant.
hope they can sell Romero though, plus hopefully Smalling to Roma will be done soon as well. So much deadwood still at the club, time to get the ball rolling.
