Oh, good.

Also, CFL? How certain are we that the Canadian Football League will survive the pandemic? Interest in the League has been waning for years, and I sincerely wonder how they will manage after a year away.

I will definitely miss him on CFL broadcasts, but not as much as I missed him on NHL broadcasts. So glad to have him back on HNIC!

Really excited to have him back on HNIC. It was a terrible cut years ago when CBC and their management meddled with their best guy. On TSN to me he fell between the cracks as I don't care for CFL, but he has such a good familiar voice for hockey.

Does this mean Hughson gets bumped to the second slot? Please god I hope so.

I thought it was terrible that the best play by play guy in the game wasn't doing NHL games. I'm glad he's back in the fold. Sad that he won't do CFL now though. If there will be a CFL again.

This sucks for TSN and the CFL. I hate sports net with a passion and would boycott it the second the flames were off that network. It’s the only reason I tune in. I hope TSN makes a pitch for the regional rights to the flames. Isn’t that contract up shortly?

Yes, but that is not the same. He didn't do many games compared to what he could have done if he was working on Sportsnet.

Article at the athletic on it with some quotes

His deal was up or is soon, asked his agent to look around, sportsnet made an offer

Nothing announced on when he starts or what he will do

Seems like it was to do more nhl though, said he had done 25 grey cups, as of last year hes seen every team win, so he felt his cycle was over

I imagine Hughson would still do the finals as the #1 team with Simpson. Cuthbert will solidify a 2nd team which SN has sorely lacked since it started this contract.

It's hard to believe that Cuthbert is 62 years old. I remember him hosting the 86 World Cup that Canada qualified for. Still sounds the same

Spoiler!

I, for one, am looking forward to seeing more of that. I am not sure what that will be, but I am confident that Chris Cuthbert will insist on asking if I saw it.

Off the top of my head;
Fleury 1991
Game 6 vs Vancouver 2004 coming back from 4 goals down. A voice crack of Clarks tying goal.
Game 7 2004 Vancouver of course, all the Flames goals.
Montador Game 1's OT vs SjS 2004 (not sure why Cole took over mid series)
Stampeders 1998 last second FG to win Grey Cup.
