My single biggest fear for this club was the Oline, and specifically Canadian Oline, not being deep enough. This is why the Spencer Wilson loss was so big too.
Not even one snap of the ball into the season and they are scrambling now.
Just...ugh. Hope Erdos makes a full recovery, he is a good player.

It's been a tough week for offensive lineman in Alberta as Eskies tackle SirVincent Rogers tore his left tricep and is likely done for the year as well.

If anyone wants my two tickets to the preseason game on Friday (blues) or my two buddy passes (whites) let me know. I’m going to Denver to watch the Jays and can’t use them.

In most any job these days, a 15-year stay is something to be applauded.
When that job is inside the highly transitory world of professional sports? Well, it’s practically reason for a confetti shower and accompanying brass band.
“The very first day?” Stampeders’ special teams co-ordinator Mark Kilam allows his mind to drift back to 2005, to his younger, inexperienced self. “Oh, yeah. Of course. I was really nervous. I was 25.
“The building” – he motions to the home north end/dressing-room section of McMahon Stadium – “was different back then. I didn’t have an office. So I set up my stuff in the gym that was in there at the time.
“And anybody that walked by, I tried to talk to them.
“New guy, right?
“Just wanted to introduce myself.”
Fifteen years later, introductions are hardly necessary.

The Calgary Stampeders have signed international defensive lineman Charles Walker.
The Stamps have also re-signed international running back Romar Morris and placed him on the six-game injury list. Morris appeared in 10 regular-season games in 2018 and accumulated 376 rushing yards, 167 receiving yards, 813 return yards and seven total touchdowns. He suffered an injury during the Western Final and was out of action for the Grey Cup. He was released on May 19, 2019.
National offensive lineman Brad Erdos also goes on the six-game injury list.
Here is more information on Walker:

Asked Danny Austin on twitter about Erdos loss...
Quote:
Not anything to do with today really Danny...but just how huge a loss is Erdos? Is there an obvious National replacement? Looking at the depth chart i dont see one.

Justin Lawrence and Ryan Sceviour both were traditionally guards, they were being transitioned to centre this year but should be able to pretty easily move back to their natural positions

The after practice scrums with DD have been quite positive so far. Nice to hear that Dave seems pretty happy with what he is seeing from many of the new guys.
The half-new D is going to take some reps to come together but I'm starting to think that if the Oline holds up, the Stamps are going to be pretty good again this year. Huffs eye for talent has always been a major positive for this organization and it looks like he might have nailed it again on a number of fronts.

I didnt go, but have heard positive things in general about Montell Cozart, Aaron Peck, Griff Whalen, Lorenzo Jerome, Folarin Orimolade and Gerald Holmes from those who have been following training camp closely.

Just a heads-up that the Stamps first exhibition game this Friday night against the Riders is on TSN (Stamps lucked out having both exhibition games picked up by TSN this season).

It really shouldn't be a surprise that the Alouettes are on shaky financial footing:
The Alouettes have lost $50 million since the Wetenhall family owned the team, including $25 million for three years. In 2018 alone, losses would have reached $12.5 million due to a revenue decline of approximately $6 million and an increase in expenditures of more than $6 million.

Not sure how you loose that much in a league where the salary cap is less than 5M without some seriously shady #### going on.

The article doesn't explain where the $6 million increase in expenditures came from. Doesn't sound plausible.

I imagine just following the blueprint of an owner claiming financial ruin before asking for help, threatening to move/fold etc.
