Because believe it or not I am a flames fan. I enjoy seeing player development, I enjoy watching Zary, Pospisil and Pelletier. I want to see what type of players Kuzmenko and Pachal are for us

Word of advise stay out of the 2024 NHL draft thread because there are many hoping for something better then our current 9th? OA pick. It's very "Oileresque in there"

Anyways I'm done with this, have a lovely day

How many of you cheering for losses have spent $10,000+ annually on Season Tickets? And will do so next season?

Cheering for losses is gross.

100%, cheer for good asset management, cheer for a re-tool, cheer for a change in culture; but cheering to lose is awful.

Hoping the Flames can stay in the top 10 pick range.

Flames win in the shootout, lead by the Huberdeau line. All of Kuzmenko, Sharangovich and Huberdeau score in the shootout tonight.

I think the team is going to play with a ton of energy tonight.
So in his first 97 games, he had 88 pts (.91 PPG)

Since then, he has 7 pts in 27 games (.26 PPG)

I don't see a cap dump, I see a guy in a slump who needs a change of scenery. This could be a tremendous buy-low trade for Mr Conroy.

Yeah I doubt they could win a board battle to save their lives, but could be an absolute blast with possession in the o-zone. So curious to see how Sharky handles the extra responsibility.

They need a 5-10 pick at the lowest this year.

Need that next Monahan/Tkachuk pick in the top 10.

Fans are not cheering for the team to lose because they hate the team, they are cheering for losses to become a successful franchise again.

Cheer for the win while watching
Be ok with a loss after.

That's my approach.

Cheering for 20 straight wins, new record...no SO wins so the record is real and not fake like the Oilers BS

One could argue that becoming a team with a losing/worse reputation will stop good players from wanting to come/stay here for years to come, even if they are younger talent that's still developing into form.

There are plenty of recent Stanley Cup winners (or good teams) that didn't go into full rebuild mode in order to get there.

I'd rather keep that outside chance of another '04esque run alive each year and still have plenty of chances at drafting good players in each round than take a few years off watching any meaningful hockey, personally, though I do understand the logic behind "tanking". (and it still makes me sick)

Yeah, my point exactly. Kuzya had a decent start to the year offensively, and ended up in the coach's doghouse anyway. That lead to him trying to do too much, and over thinking things. Which made his slump even worse.

The optimistic part of me hopes it works out similar to the Panarin - Saad trade.

He also wasn't being given the opportunity anymore, something that won't be the case here

A first in the NHL tonight as Hanifin is traded to the Bruins partway through the game.

Have seen a single comment about Pelletier's season debut tonight?

For me that trumps cheering for losses or wins or whatever your position is on the Flames at this point in the year.

LFG Pelts. The boys have missed that energy on the bench.
