I think it's a solid deal. Why not have a guy who can have a fresh start, and probably at worst be a scoring 4th liner (at minimum pay too). I personally don't see the upside coming to fruition, but bottom two liner, sure. And locked up for two years.

There is no way in hell I want them to get to OT of Game 7 of the Final.
I'd much rather they sell off their futures and have a final quarter of the season like their first quarter and miss the playoffs by 1 point.

I didn't look at the schedule and I am not going to but what if we can have our cake and eat it too.
Poolparty scores the game winner that eliminates the Coilers from the playoffs by 1 point and the Pens go on to win the cup. It's a win-win really, Flames fans are sated and the Coilers lose to the eventual Stanley Cup winners yet again completing their banner collection.
