One I havnt seen and I'll throw in is Barrett Hayton.
22 having a down year but had a good season year before.
RFA next season
They have schmaltz, bjustag, cooley, mcbain, kerfoot and geekie.

An extended Hanifin is worth more than Lundell though IMO

The salaries don't work. They would have to move two roster players from a team that is humming pretty good. And is Hanifin better than Montour? Because he isn't better than Forsling. Seems like a lot of deck chair shuffling for a team that's one of the favorites in the East.

Some guys we might be able to pry away at the deadline. No sexy names, but could be good players down the line and improve our depth.
Jagger Firkus (Kraken)
David Goyette (Kraken)
Fraser Minten (Leafs)
Bryce McConnell-Barker (Rangers)
Matthew Cataford (Vegas)
A guy I might look at in a hockey trade is Luca Del Bel Belluz (Blue Jackets). Might be stuck behind some depth in Columbus and has some potential.

Great thread. I don’t really have much to add, as I really
only follow the flames and Wranglers. Love the takes and sharing. Interesting to consider. Thanks Op and CP.

Buy low option would be getting Frost.
Would name others but they’ve already been mentioned. Bourque for Tanev straight up would be nice.

And they were talked about having interest in Hanifin as well. But does anyone really want to extend in a place that has a chance to be relocated?

Tanev for Minten...i think Tre would be desperate enough to do it.

BT could be BSing the media but he came out before and said their 2024 1st, Knies, Cowen, and Minten are all off the table. So seeing how they don't have much else I take that as the Leafs standing pat this deadline. Like I said he could be full of crap though.

Well that would have to be Hanifin with an extension in place and even then I still think we might have to add. Necas would be a perfect piece though going forward.

Sec214 says Florida wants Hanifin and Lundell is a terrific get for the Flames. Massive production in his rookie year while decreasing points in his next 2 years.. Absolutely a player to be targeting.
Lets get the ball rolling.

Draft Pick

It would require a generous package, but I'd make a hard push to get Logan Stankoven from Dallas. Elite skills, has a real motor and hates losing! I think you could build a team around him! Two first, a second, Honzek, Hanafin or Tanev retained? I don't really mind, we won't finish low enough to get a player of his talent level. Bedard obviously won't be available, but Dallas is flush down the middle and Stankoven might be the next best thing to Bedard!

Two 1sts, a 2nd, Honzek, and Hanifin or Tanev with salary retained for Stankoven?
Conroy would get fired on the spot and likely institutionalized.
