Starts by protecting the puck from Radulov then sprints up and dekes right past Seguin for a 2 on 1. His skating looks greatly improved.
And if that's not Gaudreau with him, he probably shoots that.

He and Hanifin are going to be absolute studs for the next ten years.

As for top potential among our young defenders I think he is tops. He has the potential to be solid.

I think we can finally make a conclusion in regards to which team won that trade.

I think your description of Brodie is exactly backwards. Long stretches of strong play with a few mistakes here and there.

I really like Andersson, but for now he is a downgrade on Brodie on the top pair. Of course he is still very young and should hopefully grow into that role soon enough.

Both he and Kylington will be RFAs after this season. Andersson in particular, is to likely be due for a hefty raise. With one both of Brodie and Hamonic off the books, it shouldn't be an issue.

Travis Hamonic's second contract was for 7 years, $3.857 million per.

If the Flames can do something like that with Andersson it'd be great.

at the same percentage cap in today's market, we'd be talking 4.89m per

would be a great deal for sure and not entirely out of wack considering the Hanifin contract.

I think he’s the best of the three youngsters. I like Hanifin too but Andersson is just solid all around and I find he’s not as prone to as many mistakes as Hanifin.

I think Valimaki is up there too. Injury setback is a bummer, but that's a solid, mature kid who understands the fundamentals. I see good things.

One (or both) of Lerby and Yelesin rounding out the D core depth down the road sounds good. After that, the stockpile of young D needs to addressed via draft.

Razzie was fortuitous to get a personal trainer/nutritionist as a spouse. Maybe the smartest move he's made.

Probably smart for her too, personal trainers/nutritionists usually don't live the high life financially.

One day maybe Valimaki, Hanifin and Andersson are a “big three” like Montreal had in the 70s.

Fortuitous in this case is not what you think it means...

Fortuitous:
Adjective-
happening by accident or chance rather than design.

_____

Rasmus is always learning. He knows he has the ability to be REALLY good. He is going to surpass Gio, Hanafin, and Valimaki before the 2020/2021 season is done. We are all about to watch something beautiful happen before our eyes in the way this young man is going to progress. His progression will be a fortuitous outcome of the Baertchi trade.
