@ShiDavidi: Thomas Pannone is a LHP with a 2.62 ERA and a 1.069 WHIP at double-A; Samad Taylor is a 10th-rder from 2016 playing 2B in short-season A

Yeah, sounds like Pannone might be a get. The 2B/SS in SS rookie-league... meh... just a throw in I wager.

Pannone will probably be Aaron Loup 2.0.

That's definitely a good thing to have. Can never have enough lefty relievers. I'm assuming that he'll not pan out as a starter at the MLB level, but that's still yet to be determined.

Sounds like that's it for the Jays today.

Those are pretty solid numbers for a 23 year old pitcher at the AA level.

Good lefty relievers is a pretty huge team need right now and going forward too. Hopefully he pans out.

Hopefully we get to see an Alford/Pillar/Hernandez outfield at times late this season.

That's a pretty athletic outfield and a lot more speed on the base paths.

Would be pretty funny if the Jays signed Liriano this off season to either fill out the rotation, or use him as the high leverage lefty out of the pen (I think that's how the Astros plan on using him?).

If they did that:

Hutchison (plus cash) for Ramirez, McGuire, Hernandez, Aoki, and Liriano (if re-signed)

Would be pretty good asset management. Hutchison hasn't pitched an inning in the majors yet this season.

Martin and Smoak both homer this inning.

#30 for Smoak.

Who saw that coming?

That was a nasty knee to the head on that collision. Moncada on Garcia.

Worked out good for the JAYS though. Heck of a catch but dropped it after the knee and the bases clear. 6-0 now.

Good end to the story. Can't believe how mature he was to deal with something that wasn't even his fault.

Remember the guy who threw his beer on the field in the playoffs against Baltimore? Here's his story:

This might be better served in the general MLB thread. In any case, it really sucks that this has followed him around for so long. If you re-watch what happened, about 5 or 6 people reached for the ball along with Bartman, so how it's only his fault is beyond me. Fans always reach into play - that's how it is with baseball. The Cubs were winning the game (and series) when that happened - they were the ones that blew up and lost the series. Keep in mind this was only the NCLS, not even the World Series yet.

On Liriano, the return they got was fantastic. He has an ERA of almost 6 this year, with a WHIP of 1.6. I guess that is all work as a starter and he looks to be used as a reviler, but I was pretty happy with the fact they were able to move him at all.

Surprised they couldn't move Estrada when they managed to move Liriano. The Jay must have wanted a more for him than teams were willing to pay.

Hopefully he can re-sign with the Jays for a decent number. This is a guy who had one of the lowest WHIPs in the AL and one of the lowest opponent batting averages against for the last 2 years.

I wouldnt be surprised if the Jays re-sign Estrada to be honest. Tough year so they can probably get a discount which could be a massive steal if he finds his mojo again.
