He's going to get as many goals as Neal has assists and Neal is going to get as many assists as Lucic has goals.

None of what Lucic brings to the team matters if they don't win games against teams that will be fighting them for playoff positioning. His presence on the ice did absolutely nothing for the Oilers and it's done absolutely nothing for the Flames in regards to winning hockey games.

They lost by one goal to the AVS (en) and they outplayed the Sharks when they had 3 days off and the Flames were on a b2b.

His faceoff win led directly to the GWG last night.

Honestly if Lucic punched Neal in the head at least once I would be a content Flames fan. If he punches McHobo in the head the Flames win that trade even if Neal scores 50.

11 goals.

I'll say Lucic scores his first two goals vs. Panthers on 10/24.

Who cares?

Flames success is not tied to lucic's offensive stats whatsoever.

This thread would be more relevant to the flames winning the conference/division again if it was regarding Backlund, Bennett.

Lucic's impact on the team won't be quantified by the number of points he gets.

When are folks on here going to comprehend that.

If that's what people want to use to judge the player and the trade, them i just can't help but think they are more pessimistic about things than i am (a self proclaimed pessimist).

I have a different view. I don’t care what Neal does, but Lucic has a guaranteed roster spot and top 6 salary for the next 4 years or so. If that only buys the Flames a few timely punches that’s a big disadvantage for the team.

It’s early. We’ll see if he gets on even a brief roll. And if the flames win a few playoff rounds thanks to the emotional charge good on them. I’ll cheer.

Right now if I had to bet I’d take the under on whatever his goal line is. Even if it’s 1.
