You've basically summarized the Edmonton Oilers' game plan for the last decade.

Guilty as charged. My sincerest apologies for forgetting we traded Eddie Lack for more than a bag of pucks.

Haha, yeah, but I figured a few other players should be able do play well against a team struggling to keep pace in the German league. Nope, McDavid had to do it all. Oilers won it in OT, but I have to say that I'm very entertained by that display of ineptitude.

This is awesome! Great news for a European expansion.

I’ve recently come into Gary bettman’s press release...

“Look at how competitive DEL teams are with the art ross winning super stud and his merry band of PTO signing, to the max of the salary cap band, terry jones Stanley Cup predicting nhl team. Please give us $1 billion per franchise.”

“Sure the oilers are at the bottom, but do you know how many years they have been at the top of the draft order? And the banners... and I haven’t even mentioned the 80s. Yes! Not one, not two, not 3, but 6 Giordanos. Rob Shremp couldn’t even make this team.”

Huh...Ben Hanowski scored the goal to send that game to overtime. Good for him still playing.

The Oilers were able to beat the Cologne Sharks 4-3 in OT this morning. Former Flames Ben Hanowski tied the game in the third period.

The Oilers can now raise an NHL Global Series banner along with the Preseason Champions banner. A two-fer!

Not so fast. NJ beat Bern. Both clubs are 1-0 and will meet in the NHL Global Series Final on Saturday.

Never got truly plugged in on why they’re doing games like this so late in preseason.

I assumed the Oilers are there because of concessions made to Dr Drai in his contract negotiations and NJ snickered while accepting the league offer and made sure Hall got to walk around and troll as part of the joint team festivities, with “mvp” embriodered on each piece of clothing he wore, and brought the Hart trophy with him to remind all his former teammates.

That was quality.

General Manager Peter Chiarelli voiced the same excitement: “We’ve waited all summer for a chance to turn the fans against us once and for all. And it’s early days, but so far it’s going according to plan."

it's much more fun when Oilers fans are defensive. i don't know how to react to an Oilers fan who can take a joke.

'B-Class City?'

They're reaching for the stars on that one.

'D-Class' at best.

I mean, what can you say about a City that had the complete lack of humility to put 'City of Champions' on their civic sign and then have to shamefully pull it down after conclusively being proven to be Chumps?

Where can I find a gif or video of Hall-Larsson -trade? A gif where Shero makes a trade proposal in NHL videogame and then covers Chiarelli's eyes, takes his controller and accepts the trade? I know I've seen it couple of years back, have to find it!
