The Canadian Real Estate Association does everything they can do to monopolize data and keep it within their stronghold so that they don't lose their "competitive" advantage.

You can still find out as several already have by texting or emailing me.
Im assuming that someone saw their sale price listed and for whatever reason, didnt like an entire forum having access to it.
Billy: Johny, can you pay back that loan I gave you now that you sold your house?
Johny: I sold my house at a loss for $550,000
Billy: But I saw on a forum that it went for $570,000
Johny: Uhhhh

1. Maybe Johnny shouldn't be a liar to start with (sold my house for a loss).
2. Answer 2 of Johnny should read "yeah I mean $570, but after realtor commissions there was nothing left over "

Enough people on this board see the value in using a skilled Realtor and I see no point to fall too deep into your comments. Perhaps it was a ploy for some quick "likes".
There are CP members who have gone as far as posting stories where they ended up selling for more than what they expected, or than what comps went for, or for more than what a discount option told them. The difference often covers the commissions and puts extra cash in the sellers pocket.
I feel that of all threads I have created, this one has had the most value to our board. If we can keep it on track in that direction, it would be much appreciated.

I think the thread is excellent, but generally think the crea is a joke, but that's been covered in other threads.

Plus, if I am understanding their commercials right, they can send the SWAT team after you. Or something.
(Realtor 1 seems like a good dude, CREA just has a really bizarre commercial in heavy rotation)

By using a realtor you are able to avoid any swat team action in your house
I wonder how long before someone who is not on the forum and doesnt understand green text complains at such a outlandish remark.

A short while after that commercial came out I stopped by an open house and wanted to fun have with the realtor. I asked her if there was any possibility of the home being connected with cartel because I was concerned. She seemed very confused and I could tell that the commercial reference didn't mean anything to her.

Is it possible to create a list of possible SWAT team targeted homes that are for sale much like the Lofts list? I think it might make life a little more interesting knowing that at any moment a SWAT team might take over my house

I noticed that previous sales prices are available through the City of Calgary Assessment Search system when you are logged into your account. I'm not sure if this a new feature or not but it is a nice thing to have. It only shows sales prices from 2011 up to June 30, 2014.
