Yup, was even a perfectly warm weekend, you'd think they'd try to get as much as they can get done since winter is coming and they are behind the original schedule?
No, just push the schedule and take it easy. Not a single soul in sight. Like god damn, how easy is being a project manager on these things? No accountability to time and seems like costs as well. So just a giant "meh, it'll get done when it gets done, and for however much we spent"

Pretty sure this “collective workforce” would take so long to mow my lawn, by the time they finished, it would be time to start again. Hmmm, almost like they’re intentionally inefficient. How odd.

I don't know what you do for a living, but I'm pretty damn sure it has nothing to do with infrastructure projects.

What part was wrong? Where's the repercussions for this taking embarrassingly long and the piss poor communications about detours?
I'm on the supplier side for muni/industrial projects.

Looks like all the construction signs, speed limit reductions etc. have been removed on the NB portion of Stoney where it crosses the river. It was full speed from WB 16th Ave to NB Stoney. Not sure of SB Stoney is the same, that is not part of my commute normally.

No construction updates on the site since Oct 20th. Anyone drive highway 8 often and can estimate the state of the overpasses? North and south of 17th looks glorious. Lit, laned and signed.

Is it still 80km/h on the Trans Canada between Stoney and Old Banff Coach Road? 80 felt so slow last time I drove through there.

This. It's so painful. Especially when you come back from a few weeks of driving in Europe. The road is straight, it's wide with multiple lanes, there is a centre divider, and the bushes aren't hitting your mirrors and yet the speed limit is slower!?
On the plus side, nobody drives 80km/hr on that stretch so it's not too bad.

I was just on there about 20 min ago. Everybody was doing 100 even though....
So it's not too bad.

Drive past it daily, even snuck through one evening heading east on 17th Ave to get onto highway 8. It is done as far as I can tell. More soil grading and work being done off of the road. Some trucks still working the storm pond next to discovery.

There is no end date provided right now. Once the additional lane is added to the WB bridge, they will need to add another lane to the EB bridge. Once that is done, the WB bridge will need to be repaved, then same again for EB. Then they will announce that instead of construction being complete that the WB bridge will have then exceeded it's life expectancy and will need to torn down and replaced. Then same for EB.

Thank you for your enquiry into the South Bow River project. The pedestrian bridge has been under construction so long that river has changed course and it no longer spans the Bow River so we are starting over. Construction timelines for the new bridge will be presented geologically in eras and epochs. Stay tuned for more information where we wont be updating the website.

If you want to complain about pedestrian bridges, we have a specific thread for that. Strangely specific, actually.
