I agree, but he is part of the team. I'll be doubly pissed if Luongo wins the gold in a rematch, but even silver is exceeding expectations for this team. Just don't see how you can discount the effort from them in this tourney.

You would think wrong. Not disrespecting the Americans but Canada is the best team left in the tournament. Canada absolutely dominated the game vs the US and even your own coach Ron Wilson said after the game that Canada is still the best team in the tournament.

Normally, the "cheer for the weaker team" thing is somewhat sensical. In this case, however, it's not like Sweden is beating themselves out there. The Slovaks are winning this game all on their own... which would make them the stronger team, not the weaker team.
I mean, cheering for Belarus is one thing... but this Slovak team is nothing to be nonchalant about.

They are undefeated, good for them, but they were thoroughly out played by Canada and struggled in the other 3 games against weak competition.
They have relied on lucky bounces and favorable calls to win games. I know you are a homer but not sure how even you can say they have looked impressive so far this tournament.

I don't think anyone is discounting what the Americans have done. We just think that based on the games teh teams have played, Canada looks the strongest at this point.
The US is still very strong this Olympics, and if they faced Canada for gold, it's entirley possible that they could beat us again, especially if Miller plays like he has been all tournament.

Agreed. I'll add that for a lot of posters it seems like "anti-Sedin" bias becomes "anti-Sweden" bias. But let's be clear: we don't all hate the Sedins because we don't think they're good players. They are incredible players; that's why we don't like them.
With that said, they haven't been the factor in this game that I thought they'd be.

I agree and that proof has been explained to you in a few posts.
The question wasn't who has the fewest losses but who has looked the best so far.

I'm just trying to enjoy the ride while it lasts, I know its a precarious #1 seed and it can all come tumbling down if we can't beat the Fins. I'll be cheering for a rematch, even though that would make it more difficult for gold. Now, if its a Kipper-Iggy gold medal match I'm going to be torn on which team to root for.
