Wow, that is amazing. I just booked the flight for my wife and I.
Has anyone booked a hotel yet?

No not yet. What are the chances that this price is a mistake?
Perhaps we are going to have to start our own thread about this

I was probably one of the first to book this. I litereally just received my confirmation e-mail (the second e-mail, not the first one) with my confirmed flight and seat number.
I've told all my friends, and there's 10 of us booked already!
Hopefully it's not a mistake, but it's looking pretty real so far.

Not sure if it will work out with our schedules so I can't pull the trigger yet... any idea how long "deals" like this might last for?
|
Something tells me not long. There were dates in October this morning, but they appear to be gone now.
And now that all of my friends have booked, I can tell you guys ...
September 20/21 to 27 is also available. I was withholding that information until we were booked

You guys are gonna have some fun! You can drink in Toronto and Madrid on the way there/back. Maybe even explore Madrid a little.
And it's not like you need to get hotel rooms, just sleep on the beach!

Is it possible to get this price and just go to Madrid instead?

Once everything gets settled I'll be looking into the possibility of getting off the plane in Madrid. A lot of airlines frown upon it. Ideally, we'd like to get off in Madrid, and then take the ferry over to Menorca for the last 2/3 nights. It looks like a damn nice island, but we're not really into lazing around on a beach for a whole week, just not our style.

Sorry this is totally off-topic but... Does anyone have kids in this thread? Would you have been comfortable going to Spain with a 2-month old?? Seriously. My sister and I are thinking hard about booking this and bringing the baby with us and she will be about 2 months old at this time... am I being a crazy person?
I just don't want to pass up this deal!!

That's what I was thinking... let us know if you get any info. I was also looking into flights out of Menorca -- easyjet flies to London but the price probably isn't worth it (relatively speaking anyways! )

My friends just came back from China with their 1 year old, now that's crazy. Spain, not so much!
Menorca is a very family friendly island. I don't think the question is 'Do I want to go to Spain with a 2 month old?', but rather 'Do I want to go *anywhere* with a 2 month old?'.
If you're fine with it, it's as safe a place as any in the world. By the way, those same parents are coming on this trip. At the age of 1 year, this kid will have already been more places than most adults ever will.
Just don't book the same flight as me
haha jk

Haha, yeah. I guess I was more asking about the "anywhere" portion of travelling with a 2-month old. I've never done this before so I'm pretty much clueless.

Im sure if you could take a ferry or something to barcelona you could take a train through france and into the Uk .... would prob be cheaper than a flight but who knows... its been 15 years since i have been over there

LOL... actually, I wouldn't mind exploring Europe a little bit (moreso France versus England) -- if you search the dates you can find longer trips (i.e. two weeks)

Yeah, no kidding. I've been looking for one-way flights as I'll be travelling for an indefinite amount of time, and something like this would be great. Land in Madrid (after a week on the island ), rip up the ticket, then begin my travels.
The fact that one-way supercheapdeals are really tough to find only encourages me further.
why do they only have these offers for round-trip, 1-2 week vacations?
