Lol, believe me, I'd like to think I had influence over United's prices, but it's highly unlikely.

Sure there may be the odd time where I post a deal about a select number of seats in a small date range, or certain packages, that sell out quickly. But it's very doubtful that United cut their prices across a large date range and then put their prices back up to Miami because of me.

It was likely just a short fluctuation in their prices, maybe trying to fill some seats. It's just really random for how long airlines do these sorts of things. Those flights to Taipei for example, have been around for more than a week. It's always impossible to say just how long a price cut will be around.

Just to note, those flights to Taiwan kind of overshadowed what are some really good prices to SE Asia destinations at the moment. Mostly up to late October, early November.

Tue/Wed to Tue/Wed flights from Calgary to Philadelphia are at $340 roundtrip after tax across all months up to June 2012.

United does this every now and then to Philly, dropping them by about 50%.

You might remember last week I was excited when flights to Thailand and Vietnam went under $1000 roundtrip after tax.



Well, today, they've dropped to the sub $900 price level, a new low that I've never seen before.

Calgary to Bangkok, Thailand is at $896 CDN ...
