Agreed. I tend to play rapid more than correspondence, and this is forcing me to think through my moves and then blunder, rather than just blunder directly

When does that begin? And do all of us "losers" get put in the second bracket or something?

There is one game left from the first round. I assume the second round will begin as soon as that one finishes.
Based on what I've read in the FAQ section for tournaments, I think it is just elimination each round, rather than brackets, but it would probably be fairly easy to set up one up by creating a second tournament and only including the people eliminated from the first round.
I could also be entirely wrong and have misread or not seen something.

High school chess club circa late 80s! I haven’t played much since but have signed up on chess.com for a lark. I find my patience level and desire to think super hard is my downfall. I did just massively defeat “warren buffett” though so I must be awesome. ;-)

I think that’s correct, though I also don’t know how round 2 is going to be determined. Right now there is a tie for first place in group 1, and there’s at least a chance that will happen in group 2 as well. Not too sure at all how the tiebreaker works.
If a group of people are eliminated, I think a consolation bracket is a great idea but you’d have to do it as a separate tournament.

My understanding is that it's set so one person advances, but the tiebreaker is based on who you beat and how they did, so the tie breaker will also be a tie for you and Honkey and you will both advance. Same on the other side if I beat Gnomeprime in this final game.

While we wait for Superfraggle to likely beat me, for people trying to get better, John Bartholomew's Chess Fundamentals videos are great, especially the one about undefended pieces.

In case anyone hasn't been checking, Round 1 is complete, with four people advancing to Round 2. It doesn't look like the 3 who have been eliminated get any games in Round 2, so you likely need to set it up manually in order to do a consolation bracket.

I'm not sure. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just whoever wins this round-robin (unless there is a tie). I think there were only supposed to be two people in round two to begin with, as it was set as 1 person from each group advances. We just have four now because there were ties on both sides. If only one person is supposed to advance again this round, there isn't another group for them to play against. I'm just guessing at this point, though. It isn't really clear.

It’s not clear to me either…. And I’m the one who set it up, so that’s embarrassing.
I say we just play until chess.com tells us it’s over.

Awesome! If that had been on lichess you would get a Rosen trophy for it, I’m pretty sure.

This is my proudest victory. Won two of them.
