Canadaland has yet to lose or even make a court appearance against the Irving’s and We. The Wenzels likely don’t scare them at all. The reporting was very clear on what they could and couldn’t prove.

Oh and Nenshi and Farkas were on the Eyeopener this morning talking about Chu and AHS. Both pull no punches on the Chu stuff:

Canadaland is going to be just fine, Wallace strikes me as the type to keep his receipts, and Singh is greased in... none of them will have to pay a dime. This is just a SLAPP suit.

I think they've been doing this on the Eyeopener a few times. There was/is definitely much friendlier interaction between the two on twitter since they have both been off council.

Seems like stepping away from politics has been a very positive influence for Farkas. Wonder if he gained some new perspectives once he left the right wing Alberta bubble he was in

He claims to have had some realizations while hiking for a while.

If Chu resigns or is removed, I wonder if Farkas might run to replace him? I don't believe there are any ward residency requirements for city council.

The good people of Ward 4 would do well to elect DJ Kelly if he was interested in running again. Dude lost by a proverbial hair, and he would be infinitely better than his predecessor as a Councilor. No need to parachute a well-known candidate, especially in a municipal contest.

The Conservative PAC will run a Canadians against the centrist/left PAC so someone will run against Kelly

That's not a hard bar to clear. A can of Mountain Dew would be infinitely better as councilor and I say that as someone who hates Mountain Dew.

Kelly would probably do great as a Councilor and give existing rookie and veteran Councilors a run for their money. Seems like a well-organized, motivated professional who can competently do his role.

For such a sudden change (and a positive one if it's sincere) it sure makes me wonder if he is setting up for another run at mayor. Gondek isn't exactly popular and we've had a progressive mayor for 4 terms in a row now (I think?) so the timing might be right if he feels the city is restless for a change.

I think he was tacitly acknowledging that he burned bridges with the "conservative" political machine when he commented on The Eyeopener, "... I can't believe I have to say this part too, but I will, but if anyone out there—especially conservatives—are willing to turn a blind eye to this and what happened to the mayor, just because you dislike her politics, I think you need to get your head checked. It's very clear that this councillor's position is untenable, and he simply cannot carry out the work that Calgarians are demanding of him..."

He has intimated as much, hasn’t he?
I guess the question is whether his redemption / atonement tour has been enough. I will reserve judgment until I see what his campaign is like, and if it is back to being the same old Jeromy.

He's posted on Reddit a few times and it's still same old Jeromy
