We’re they symptomatic at the time of test. Omicron appears to have a much shorter dormant time period then original but if they were asymptomatic at time of test (72 hrs prior to departure). There is a long period of time for them to become infected post departure testing.

Or are you talking about being tested in Canada after they got back?

You can still get sick without it being COVID, so there's that.

Manitoba doing some good data breakdown. Will be more interesting as Omicron continues to roll through.

Says it is based on a 6 week average.

Cases in Ontario are happening at essentially the same rate for vaccinated vs unvaccinated (believe vaccinated are a bit higher).

ICU is still dominated by unvaccinated

What is the definition of "fully vaccinated" now? Two doses, or do you need the booster as well?

Canada Public Health still considers it as 2 doses. Not sure who decides on each provincial level.

If we can get the booster into the most vulnerable people quickly, it should keep the ICU #s steady. That is what I'm hoping for right now. I know someone who works at a major COVID ward in Winnipeg, and all vaccinated who are in ICU have major pre-existing conditions and would benefit strongly from the booster.

Hospitalizations are shown without context.

Is that admitted for COVID? Tested for COVID after admittance? In the hospital for something else but COVID is part of it? Hard to say what it really means, but over 6 weeks the #s look pretty steady.
