Thanks. Yeah I was basically sick from March 1st to mid April. Kids are petri dishes so it is what it is. First covid was beginning of April and was no good, now caught it somewhere in Nashville and was as bad, but symptoms didn't last near as long. Just a bit of a cough now. I'm sure it won't be the last time. Hope you can get back to health here sooner than later.

Well, we dodge it for two years but our luck finally ran out. 3 out of 4 positive rapid tests and my wife has the same symptoms as everyone else, but keeps testing negative. We have two kids under 5, so this means we’re without day home for at least 10 days, so thank goodness the weather seems decent and we can play outside when they feel better. So far, everyone has chest congestion and a “deep” cough and general fatigue. It was very strange, I felt fine yesterday and then got hit with the COVID symptom bus last night at 10. I got congested, fever, and even a bit of skin sensitivity. My rapid test turned positive pretty much instantly and the kids didn’t take long either and I’m sure we didn’t get the best samples from them.

I had Covid in March of 2020. I had the UK variant. It took me down hard for about two weeks. I could barely get out of bed. It then took me about 3 months to get all my energy back. I couldn't walk up the slightest hill without feeling gassed. Walking the dog was a chore. I'm triple vaxed now. probably get my 4th in the summer. I'm not going through that again.

I'm almost back to normal, thankfully. I haven't taken any cold/sinus meds in the last 36 hours, and don't seem to be any worse for wear. The only lingering symptoms are hyperactive sinuses and wicked post-nasal drip causing a hoarse, 'wet' cough every once in a while. I'm hacking up "lung cookies" every couple hours and it's a great relief afterward.

Otherwise, I feel... pretty much fine. Hopefully no more of this crap anytime soon!

Welp, COVID has finally hit our house. 12yr old son tested positive last night. Complained of a dry, scratchy throat and his voice was hoarse. He had a ball game last night and we figured it was from yelling from behind the dish in the cold but nope.

Has a bit of a cough this morning and is a little congested but feels fine. Wife and I tested negative so we'll see....

Unfortunately, we were all around a lot of people this weekend. Two parties, multiple sports events, visits with both sets of grandparents... more people than any point over the last 2 years.

I have it now, likely from attending either Game 1 or 2. This time was a lot worse than the first round of COVID a few months back. Like having a really bad flu along with a really bad cold and really bad allergies. It started with 2 days of straight headaches that tylenol/advil wouldn't touch, and then the main symptoms of congestion, fatigue, etc. kicked in. After about 4 days of that, I'm 80% of normal now, but probably still at least 2 days until I'm back to 100%, I would guess.

I have had COVID since last Thursday most likely. Only tested positive this Monday though. Fever for the first few days and was decently delirious for huge stretches. Have a really annoying cough and a general sense of fatigue, which has gotten better as the weak has gone along.

Close to normal now, but still testing positive on Rapid Tests. For those who recovered, generally how long did it take for rapid tests to show you as being negative? Staying isolated from the rest of the family and don’t want to put them at risk, if I’m still contagious.

If you're still positive on rapid tests, I would say you're probably still contagious. PCR tests can stay positive for quite awhile after recovery, but rapid tests go back to negative fairly quickly.

I just caught a positive yesterday after returning from the states. This is my 2nd bout with Covid. The first one was during the Delta wave. I was in the states and got monoclonal antibodies and minimum symptoms (sore back) for the 10 days of that one.

This time I woke up freezing cold at 1 am, burning hot at 3 am, gastro distress and vomiting at 5am, light congestion at 7am and tested positive. I am a type 1 diabetic so my doctor prescribed me Paxlovid. I took my first round of 3 pills last night. Woke up this morning and have the headache I had all day yesterday and light congestion. Hoping this is the worst of it.

Curious about others experience with Paxlovid.

Welp, after being home for 10 full days +1, my son finally went back to school today for his PAT. Aside from the congestion, he felt fine the entire time and was going crazy in the house and continued to test positive the whole time (or at least until we ran out of tests on Monday). Wife and I tested negative the entire time and thankfully no one else he was in contact with got it.

Missed 4 baseball games and 2 practices. Thank god for the Oculus and Win Reality. He's now hitting HRs in VR batting practice. He's missed so much school this year I fear he's going to become a moron. Better succeed at ball.

It definitely takes hoops to jump through to get it prescribed. You have to present a positive test and then fall under certain guidelines to get it. Then there's hoops to find a pharmacy. And you have to do all this and start within 5 days of symptom onset. In the states it seems much easier to get.

My primary physician called multiple pharmacies (7 I think)with me on the phone yesterday. 3 of them didn't even know what medicine she was talking about. The other 4 said they'd have to order it in.

I will keep you updated. My headache has abated as of about 30 minutes ago. I am not presenting a fever. I do have mild congestion and have coughed some today. My blood sugars are slightly elevated but they do this every time I get sick. My only issue is I can't find info if I can talk any other cold meds, like dayquil, while on Paxlovid

I got Covid after going to the first game of the Flames / Stars series. Triple vaxxed. If I'm being honest, my symptoms overall were probably more mild than a normal cold / flu. Didn't have any trouble sleeping, no fever, shakes, or body aches. Just stuffed up, and a persistent cough. The only crappy thing is the cough is still lingering lightly, and has not gone 100% away even after 2 weeks.

I had covid, way back in the old days of alpha. It was a mild cold, that I wouldn't have even considered an illness, except for the test result. About the only symptom I had was a slight cough, occasionally, in the evenings. It persisted for a good 4 months though.

My symptoms were worse last night. Heavy congestion and a lot of coughing leading up to bed time.

I woke up this morning with no symptoms outside of a less than mild stuffy nostril (just one). No cough, no fatigue, and no headache. I have taken 2 of the 5 days of Paxlovid (its 3 pills taken twice daily).

Outside of knowing I tested positive for Covid on Tuesday. I wouldn't think any thing of this and would have carried on with my normal day to day.

My wife got covid for the first time at the end of last week. It was like a very bad flu for her, but she recovered after about five days. She is also fully vaccinated and boosted.

I think one of our cats may have caught it off her too. He has a lot of underlying immune issues as was worse that my wife was for a couple of days, but recovered quickly.

I couldn't get Paxlovid or the other treatment, I forget it's name. I jumped through all the hoops my doctor specifically told me to do (drive-through PCR test, called the 1-800 number immediately when I got a positive test text, left a message, did the two min phone interview when they called back the next day, but was told only have been ineligible if I were not vaccinated. This was early to mid april.

My rheumatologist was dumbfounded. I think a little bit furious, too.

But i'm fine, so...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's so strange how strict they are here compared to the states. A friend who lives in Chicago was with me in the States. He also tested positive. He went to CVS (like Shoppers), got a test, and got a prescription on the spot from the minute clinic. He's 45 with no co-morbs.

Same with Monoclonals before Omicron. I was able to go in to an urgent care and present my positive test and they gave me the treatment.

I feel like I also would have been fine without the prescription but there's always a chance. Plus reducing symptoms and possibly time I am testing positive is never a bad thing.
