You could make a lot of money just by always betting on this league to do the wrong thing.

Parros should be fired, not protected.

To be fair, NHL had to do something to not allow a precedent on this type of public calling out of the league and their operations.

That being said, I would be shocked if they aren't looking at the handling of this as a complete and utter failure.

That will really help out when the league goes to the Rangers about revenue sharing.

The League always protects its henchmen and officials. The fact that Colin Campbell has the job he has after his emails came to light should prove this league will continue to be dysfunctional mess!

Rightfully so.

That statement was an abomination, sticking up for your players or not. Calling for someone to be fired crossed the line.

Podunk league acts bush-league, more at eleven.

It gets more difficult to support this league in any meaningful way every day. They obviously don't care about their players, at all. They either don't care about their fans or are totally unequipped on how to cater to people under 50. They don't care about their teams.

I don't even know why this makes me mad. Maybe just this on top of 1000 other things just flipped a switch in my brain from "hapless idiots putting out a product I enjoy" to "hapless idiots actively making it difficult to enjoy their product" but I think I'm done for the season. Just stupid.

Calling for someone who is terrible at their job to be fired is fine. Especially when that person is in charge of trying to get some player protection in place and clearly doesn't care about dangerous events.

The NHL is a joke league.

They should be fined. The organization should have stepped back for a day or so and let cooler heads prevail. They were right imo but that's not the way to handle it.

NHL Player Safety seems far less concerned with protecting the safety of the league's players than it does the feelings of its executives.

Feels pretty backwards to me.

Right so if it came out that Panarin, the face of your Franchise, suffered a career ending concussion due to being literally body slammed head first into the ice by a repeat-offending lunatic, Wilson or Parros have to pay that price, not the ####ing rangers.

There is no way the league couldn't do this.

Think about it like this;

The NHL consists of franchises...like lots of other businesses. They are all part and parcel of the same group.

Tim Hortons consists of franchises. Now you have your biggest and most profitable TH franchise coming out with a full page ad that severely questions the ability of the head office in the way they make decisions with regards to a product you sell. It would be immediate grounds for revocation of that franchise for the owners. Rightfully so when all the other franchises are affected by said questioning.

So many forget that the NHL is a business first. This is what any other large business would do in the same situation, if not worse. I think the Rangers are actually getting off pretty easy here in the whole scheme of things.

Dolan will recoup that 250K the next time the Knicks or Rangers host a home game.

I still love they did it mind you, but there was no other way the penalty for doing so wasn't happening.
