For me who is the bigger rival between Edmonton and Vancouver depends on the players and which team is having more success.
10 years ago when the Canucks were full of ######bags that were having success it was easier to hate them more. Now it's the Oilers who have the unlikeable roster who are having more success than they should.

GOAT!

80% No Good
20% Vancouver
I thought of putting them at 0, as the idea of nobody listing them as a rival (and therefore making them completely irrelevant to the entire hockey world) made me chuckle a bit.

Did the survey. Not sure why I had to share my religion, politics, or postal code though. I gave bogus answers for that. None of that is relevant.

Uh, it kinda is. Location of a fan can definitely affect their viewpoints. For example, my fandom is much different than most of you living in Calgary as evidenced by the very emotional nature of this message board. An yes, your religion and politics can affect how you see the world if you're prone to extremes. It has relevance. Just how much? I dunno.

I suppose. I’d have gladly answered that I live in Calgary, hell even what quadrant of the city, but postal code seemed a tad too precise for me.
I’m pretty apolitical and not religious at all so my answers there won’t really matter much anyway.

No kidding. And what’s a typical spread of those stats? Seeing a high acceptance but low completion rate could mean a lot of things, but it makes me think the institution runs difficult programs with high standards. I wouldn’t judge it by that alone

Haha I put the habs in there. Can never forget 87, can never let them forget 89, and the NYE tradition was awesome for many years.

The Oilers are definitely the biggest rival in my opinion, but kudos to the Arizona Coyotes for their ability to drop a Trojan Horse right in our midst and call it a wizard. They are a close contender as well.

I guess I see the Jets as a rival more so than the Leafs and Canadiens.
But I hate the Leafs and Canadiens a lot more than I hate the Jets.
I’m not sure if that makes logical sense.

I went 75 Oilers, 15 Canucks, 5 LA, 3 Ducks, 2 San Jose
Although, I guess if we have sweeping personnel changes, these California rivalries might go away. Oh well, I did what I did. Vegas almost made the cut because I do have a lot of resentment for them

I liked the survey. Thanks for that.
I went:
75 Edmonton
10 Vancouver
5 Montreal
3 Los Angeles
2 Anaheim
1 San Jose
1 Winnipeg
1 Toronto
1 Ottawa
1 Tampa Bay
The Canadian teams for me get at least a point after this one-time division. I put in the survey that it rekindled a little bit of my hate for all of them, obviously some more than others.

Flames/Oilers is 3rd strongest rivalry in the nhl but is also top 10 in most unbalanced (they view us as rivals almost twice as much as we view them as rivals).
And the Canucks hate Boston more than us.

There is some recency bias in there. I used to joke a few years back that I hated Vancouver more than Edmonton because Edmonton was such a joke. I imagine as the oilers continue to improve (barf) those percentage numbers will shift.
Anaheim is interestingly low in the results right now. I hated them the most for a while, mostly because they had all those ex-nuks and Perry. Again, I guess that they are declining and the ex-nuks and Perry are gone there is less of a rival hatred going on.

Flames and Vancouver have had actual playoff series this century, that is a big factor

Yeah rivalries are definitely a moving target. The 80's were obvious. In 04, it was the Canucks, no doubt. After 06, it probably went back to Edmonton. Then as Vancouver improved, it swung back that way. Obviously after the shenanigans from last season, and the fact that they've got what we want (a playoff spot), it's Edmonton again.
I answered 70/30 Edmonton/Vancouver. This Canadian division thing has soured me on my hatred of the other Canadian teams. I thought the rivalries would have intensified, but I guess the Flames ineptitude just leaves me feeling MEH about those other teams.
In the playoffs it'll be ABE until the third round.

The Canucks are annoying, but I don't feel a rivalry with them
