How did the medical staff let him play in that FA Cup tie? Surely that was an existing injury prior to hurting the ankle. Feel for Rashford, hopefully not the start of long term back problems.

The obvious answer is he didn't have or they didn't know he had a double stress fracture.

For how long? After the loss today for Leicester and the dropped points for City yesterday it's a pretty laughable competition for January.

You think he had an existing back stress fracture and they let him play?

“I can’t change the ownership of United, no one can. I’m struggling to understand why the ownership have persisted in trusting that management team to oversee the building of a Premier League title winning team since Sir Alex left,” he told the Gary Neville Podcast.

“I saw a statistic two weeks ago that United have the second-highest wage bill in the world. And that’s the squad they’ve got. It’s unforgivable. It really is. I can’t believe the investment that’s been put into the squad in the last five, six, seven years and you end up with that out on the pitch.

“If you don’t lose your job for essentially overseeing that investment, that wage bill, and putting that team out on the pitch then I have to say something is really wrong. There’s real talent in that executive team ... but in terms of what the club needed to do for a number of years now is put the best in class football operators into that club and they’re not doing it. They’re not doing it and it’s a mess.”

about time he used his platform for strong words like these. Better late than never, Gary.

Is he really struggling to understand why they trust Woodward?

https://www.statista.com/statistics/...hester-united/

Finished. There go go. This is why Woodward has the trust. He's making the mistake of analyzing it with the perspective that the Glazers care enough about winning.

There's no way he suffered that injury from the Wolves game alone, his back was almost certainly already hurt prior to that game. Might not have been fractured, but he was already hurt and that just made it worse. Considering how they've handled Pogba's injury it's not unfair to wonder if it's not just incompetence from the medical staff.

sure. The question is though, is that sustainable if the on-field performance doesn't improve? I mean, missing out on the CL repeatedly is going to sting both financially and in terms of the brand, as top players will simply not view it as an option anymore. Are they going to keep earning a ####load of money if they continue to be more like Arsenal and Everton instead of Liverpool and City?

I realize there's a naivety among fans (which includes Neville) that success might be even close to as important as money is for the Glazers, but at some point you can't have one without the other. And all of that aside, the point still stands that the spending hasn't translated to on-field improvement at all. Now, we can keep throwing managers under the bus and pretend that's the whole problem, but that's hardly going to help. Recruitment has been consistently piss-poor under Woodward.

Well some of us are hoping that they never figure that out.

We have to get our PL drama somewhere.

Arsenal's defense is pure comedy gold. Cue the Benny Hill theme.

Arsenal fans.

Would you swap Mustafi for Phil Jones?

Everton conceding two goals from a CB in injury time to blow a 2-0 lead not good enough for you?

Southampton is on a roll. Super happy for Hasenhüttl.

Plenty of drama at the bridge.

Kante with a slip that Stevie would be proud of and two goals in four.

That’s the most character I’ve seen from the Arsenal team in a long time.

Also a big shout out to the away support. They had to have helped the team because they sang their hearts out for the side from minute 1 to 94.

Interesting run of games today, should be some expected results to balance out the weekend's results.

West Ham doesn't look like a Premier League club. They play like a Championship club. I think unfortunately that is where they'll end up.

In fairness, its not like they're running up against some schlubs, Leicester have been a remarkably solid team team all season and this was likely always going to result in a West Ham loss.

Leicester havent been over-the-top world beaters this season, but they've managed to play at a consistently high level without dropping too many stinkers whereas West Ham's performances have been the footballing equivalent of a teenage girl going cold turkey off her anti-depressant meds.

Wild mood swings all over the place.
